An explosion has targeted a pipeline that carries gas from Iran to Turkey near the eastern Turkish town of Dogubayazit, close to the Iranian border.
The explosion occurred on Wednesday, shattering windows of a building in the nearby village of Topcatan, prompting the authorities to close off the conduit, Tabnak quoted Anatollian News Agency as saying.
Firefighters managed to control the blaze after Turkish authorities turned off the flow of the gas.
The cause of the blast is not known yet, but Iranian officials have begun an investigation into the incident.
