Delta Force and Rangers launch a raid deep into Mogadishu to snatch two key members of the SNA faction. The plan is to be in and out in 30 minutes, but SNA leader Mohammed Farrah Aidid is not to be underestimated.

Hi,

For some reason, us Pakistanis have this thing in us that we always fail to highlight our roles in such Global Peacekeeping ROLES.

So far the only places where Operation Blackhawk down is mentioned under - Maj Gen. SyedHamid Ali's Book - At the Forward Edge of Battle - A history of Pakistans armoured corps -
sadlly very little is mentioned

The only book where the background of this is mention is in good detail of Crucial Pakistani support and assistance is under this book :
UN PEACEKEEPING OPERATIONS IN SOMALIA 1992-1995

Seems like a nice book, thanks for the recommendation.

With Rangers and Delta Force surrounded in the city of Mogadishu, a combined force of Americans, Malaysians and Pakistanis attempt an armoured assault into the city to rescue them before they run out of ammunition and water. The 160th SOAR continue their heroic work holding the city back, and resupplying their men on the ground.

Anyone got more info regarding Pakistan's involvement in the rescue of US army personnel during Battle of Mogadishu?

I hear it was Pak army that saved US Gi Joes but in the movie, Pak was shown in a bad light.. Can someone confirm that.
