bar codes do they garantee original merchandise

So I was thinking of buying some supplements from a shop other than gnc. As you know there are dubious quality standards of such shops so ive kept away from them for more than a decade -- however ive gotten an offer which is too good to let go.

The guy quickly pointed out that I can check the originality of a product by bar code scanner app -- which leads to my question ... can the desi photocopy machine replicate the bar code of an original product and post the same bar code on their entire 2number stock.. or can the bar code scanner successfully detect forgeries/replications/photocopies ?

Yes,an ordinary photocopy machine can copy the bar code while the bar code scanner cannot tell the difference between an original and a fake/copied bar code.Its just reads the info in the bar code

There is no limit to fraud but who knows if the product you are buying is actually genuine?

Most reputable companies use tamper-proof seals and holographic images to ensure authenticity since bar codes can be copied and forged easily. Whatever you buy probably has a webpage by the makers on how to confirm the authenticity of the product these days. Also, if you have any doubts about what you have bought, send in pictures to the company and ask them to confirm its authenticity. That usually gets a swift response in case of a forgery.

If someone tells in a veryyyyyy forthcoming manner that the scanners can detect the authentic bar codes etc ,like what that guy said to u in 'super affable way', thats the point when u shud stop , turn back and run at the speed of light.

Edit, wait bar code scanning app.....?? The one that u find in google and iphone app stores??...i dont trust these apps ,its the bar code reading machines only. Only known abt those machines ..rest no clue
