BAE Systems has unveiled the first technology demonstrator of the upgraded Challenger 2 tank known as Black Night.
According to Jane’s, the Challenger 2 Life Extension Project (LEP) is intended to address mission system obsolescence and ensure that the vehicle remains supportable until 2035.
The new tank will be equipped, among other things, with an IMI-made Iron Fist active protection system (APS).
