Babra Sharif supports ban on Pakistani artistes

LAHORE: Veteran Pakistani actress Babra Sharif spoke to Samaa on Wednesday, saying she supports the ban on Pakistani artistes working in India.

“The Indians who supported the Pakistani artistes received death threats from Indian nationalists and that is against human rights,” Sharif told Samaa, saying the ban doesn’t only help pacify haters but also allows for the Pakistani talent to develop further.

“Now is the time to support our own talent,” the actress added.

The ban will help producers and directors to invest in Pakistan’s growing artiste community, Sharif emphasized. – SAMAA

I see where she's coming from and I agree on that aspect.

Nonetheless, a 'secular' country like India can't do a half hearted job, if you want to ban artists from neighbouring country on the basis because they're 'Pakistani' then go all the way with trading/businesses/sports with Pakistan too.

The reality is these celebrities were getting high tie fame and souring vastly (Fawad Khan/Atif Aslam/Rahat Fateh Ali Khan) and they always wanted a reason.
