@Kaptaan @Blue Marlin You guys remember my 'struggle' with internet providers ? Yeah, after finally changing three times providers in spate of a week and being asked to pay over €120 (F/ck me if I even pay €1) to finally come back to the one I was first with, have decided to give it a try and subscribe to another provider (cable, speed should improve greatly),hoping everything goes well and as planned.

yeh just go to the bank and initiate a chargeback and ask the bank to investigate charge and block all payments and direct debits from the company. that should close the chapter. kinda reminds me when i brought tickets to go to Glasgow via train-line. i paid about £94.00 and got the code which can be used to print of the tickets. but the ticket machines did not recognise the code forcing me to fork out £100+ for a new set of tickets. i wanted a refund they said ok but they will take £20 as an admin fee. told them to stick it and made a complaint via paypal who was the intermediary and sided with trainline. i just thought fu*k it and go to the bank and get a charge back put through. got all my money back in 10 mins€120 for few days...... When they took this amount from my bank account,I can't describe you how angry I was...... I don't even know what those €120 were for. Obviously I went to my bank to block all payments and to be reimbursed of those €120. Now the internet provider is threatening to sue me..... Clearly told the woman on phone that they can go ahead and that I wasn't impressed at all. It's been a few months and I never heard about them again.
whats your contracted speeds?I'll only pay €12,99/pm for the first 6 months and then €29,99/pm. There's a 1 year contract.
It depends on the area you live, but where I am,in theory,I could get up to 100/mbs in down and up to 5 in up.
Again, that varies on the area you live,I'll see when everything will be activated. For that price,I get unlimited calls to other landlines and mobile phones and more than 200 TV channels. That also include unlimited access to more than 80 press titles on phones, tablets and laptop.
Hope everything goes well, honestly I have enough of having to change again and again.....

im paying £30.00 pm for 100 mbs which includes line rental and landline with free calls to mobiles and unlimited calls to landlines (in 60 min intervals) cba with TV i have netflix and amazon prime (for the grand tour) you have kids so its a must. but they gave a box which can record a fair amount and has decent storage (500gb) but only free view channels with one or two good channels here and there.
this is good timing as my contract expires on the 10th of jan
Is this good?
Romania has really fast internet I can attest to that!
This is my result downstairs which is wireless but even then is 10 times faster then yours. I will do mine upstairs where my hub is and is connected with cable. It averages about 140 Mbps.
€12,99pm for 6 months then €29,99pm for up to 200mbs. However, that depends on the area you live. Where I am,I could only hope for "up to 100 mbs",but I'll have way less. Anyway, that'll be still better than ADSL I currently have. (I actually nearly pay €40/pm for about 5 mbs if not less.....)
Today I received the box.
It looks like this one. It's a "all in one box". (and 4K compatible)

I only have to wait for the technician to come to my house to connect everything and voilà !
I always read about Romanians who moved to western Europe and who complained about the internet speeds.
What I can say is that despite my sh*tty connection,I still have a better ping than you guys.
bloody hell that is daylight robbery. I used to pay for 8mbs adsl but only got 1mbs which got worse when your neighbours start using the internet. Suffered from poor speeds for over 10 years at times it felt like dial up internet, then finally virgin media rolled out fibre optic that was the day I told my provider to pack up and get lost. Its because the phone exchange is bloody ancient from 1950's and it cannot handle the data. In Romania they didn't have phone lines so when they did install their phone system and internet they used the latest fibre optic optic system. I used the internet in Romania and it's like a bullet train.€120 for few days...... When they took this amount from my bank account,I can't describe you how angry I was......
