At least five injured in Peshawar IED explosion

PESHAWAR:

At least five people were injured, including two traffic police officials, in an explosion on Peshawar’s Ashraf road on Monday.

Security forces cordoned off the area and shifted the injured to nearby medical facilities.

Additional Inspector General (AIG) Shafqat Malik confirmed the incident and said an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing around two kilograms was the cause of the incident.

“The bomb was remotely detonated,” he said. “The IED was hidden in a motorbike.”

He added that the target was apparently the police officials on duty. “An investigation is underway.”

Earlier this year, at least 10 people including five women were injured in a hand grenade attack near the Karkhano police check post in Peshawar.

Other injured included personnel of police and anti-narcotics force (ANF).

Pakistan state being too soft on taking action against anti state elements such as PTM who have declared war on the state, Pakistan needs to seal the damn borders with Afghanistan and Iran who are bent on creating troubles.

this incident is from yesterday------but not a single tv channel reported it,


Confirmed by police sources: the blast in Peshawar was not a VBIED but an IED carrying 2kg explosive material placed along the roadside. One local shopkeeper and two traffic cops were injured. #Pakistan

Absolutely, Pak economy has been decimated by status quo spanning so many decades, if the economy was in good shape, I am sure Pakistan would have been in much better position to meet the challenges, but for now Pakistan needs to remain very vigilant since Bhartis are preparing another big misadventure.
