Asif Ali Zardari’s indictment in Park Lane reference deferred again
Web Desk On Jul 6, 2020 Last updated Jul 6, 2020
ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Monday again deferred the indictment of former president Asif Ali Zardari in Park Lane reference after his counsel Advocate Farooq H. Naek filed a last-minute petition against the proceedings, ARY News reported.

As the hearing of the case resumed today, Zardari’s lawyer Farooq H Naik filed a petition in an Islamabad accountability court to stop the indictment against the former president.

Zardari’s counsel Farooq H Naik in his petition maintained that proceedings against his client were not legally justified so the court should stop the indictment.

Naek asked the judge to issue a notice to NAB on the new petition and adjourned the proceedings till next Tuesday as he has to do some more research on the case.

Judge Azam Khan asked Naek to appear before the court on July 9.

To which, Zardari’s lawyer said that he has to represent another client in a different case in the Supreme Court Karachi Registry on July 9.

However, the judge postponed the indictment against PPP leader Asif Zardari and set a hearing for the new petition on July 14.

Park Lane case
Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur and other accused face charges of corruption through fake bank accounts and embezzlement in the financial facility for Park Lane Private Limited and Parthenon (Pvt) Limited.

According to the anti-graft watchdog, Asif Ali Zardari was allegedly running a fake front company by the name of Parathon as a shareholder in Park Lane properties.

A loan worth Rs 1.5 billion was taken from a bank and transferred to the company’s account in a private bank

The courts probably received only half of the payment from Zardari. They gave him time to come up with the remaining amount.

I pray that the Wrath of Allah comes down on this scum-b@stard, traitor zardari. I hope that he is tried, convicted and thrown in a 6x6 box, solitary confinement, with nothing but basic food, toilet and nothing more. Let him rot there till he dies a dog's death!!!

He has spent 11 years in jail before. He later went on to become the president of Pakistan.

Our prosecution and judiciary is a joke. Our top judges of high courts and supreme court are nothing but judicial turds. With so much evidence in UK they would have arrested even their Queen by now.

We need a body to judge the judges.... seems as if they are giving relief to mafias willy nilly.

We need an institute to train judges and pass them through examination process just as there are exams for doctors and engineers. Many of these top judges are probably fake degree holders. They need to be taught about ethics and morality at least for an entire year.

The problem is 100% Judiciary weakness and the Lawyers group , majority of criminal elements are openly bypassing all the Verdicts and punishment

It is a dead end circle

Police makes an effort and then they forget
NAB makes an effort and then they forget
Courts , take up cases and then they forget
Lawyers , represent clients and then postpone their cases and forget
ECL list , takes up cases and then they let people fly out

The process is broken against Elite and higher uppers of society

For a Poor person the punishments are harsh and heavy
