NEW DELHI - Armed forces of India and Pakistan exchanged firing across the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday.

According to media reports, India alleged that Pakistani security forces opened heavy firing from across the border on a team of Jammu & Kashmir police that was returning from Poonch sector after collecting the remains of a cross-border infiltrator, who died due to a blast when explosive material caught fire on Tuesday.

Media reports added that Indian army also obliged and fired some seven rounds near Nihala sector. However, no casualty was reported on both sides of the border after the incident.

We should have snipers at check posts to snipe them from long distance instead of wasting bullets.

Chut*** GOI of Kangress hasn't inducted a single artillery battery in 9 years , we need to scale up the retaliations by retaliating with artillery barage.

Bring in NaMo.

lol..I think the scum died last day was carrying some kind of "Future Weapons"..cause when Indian police trying to collect his remains(and possibly remains of the weapons),PA opened fire..completely justified..

Probably is related to another infiltration bid - the second one.

Army troops have foiled an infiltration bid by a group of militants along the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A group of militants were seen infiltrating into Indian territory in forward area of Durga Battalion area in Poonch sector last night, a senior police officer said today. The troops challenged them and opened fire, forcing them to retreat back to Pakistan, he said, adding that one of the infiltrating militants is believed to have been injured in the firing as blood stains were seen in the area.

Soon after the infiltration bid was foiled, Pakistan troops fired on the Indian side for sometime, he said, adding there was no loss of life or injury to anyone in the firing.

This is the second infiltration bid by militants in July. On July 1, a Pakistani intruder was killed in an IED blast when he was heading towards an Indian forward post during an infiltration bid in Poonch district.

There are snipers deployed on both sides. You raise the stakes if you use precision instead of suppression fire. Both sides know the body count leads to more drama by civilian governments.
