Are there politics at your work place?

The job which I do involves lots of politics..no one trusts anyone..there are some people who are always on their toes to find out mistakes and report them to higher administrators even if it's not their job...they feel they can score some points from the management by indulging in such cheap acts..it is hard for newcomers especially... People around us act as one among us and make you believe they are there to help you out..but these very people try to dig pits behind us..do you have such politics at your work place?have you ever been a victim to such politics?or have you ever carried messages to your boss or higher authority to make someone look lesser in their eyes?

I will be glad if you can elaborate a bit..like I will tell one of my experiences..once I was teaching a class..I came across a word of which I didn't know the meaning..I told the students that I would tell the meaning of that word the next day..actually I went prepared to class well prepared..unfortunately for me that word escaped my notice...so there was this teacher who was sitting outside of my class room for some reason..she heard what I had said to my students..later she went to my principal and informed her about it..my principal madam just told me to be a bit more prepared before teaching the lesson..I was new to that school back then..fortunately my principal recognised my worth later.That incident didn't have much effect on my job.
This was only one such incident I described here..there are many more experiences of such kind.

In any if not most private sector organizations (or any for that matter) there will be work-place politics.....it's normal.

Just get your shit done, have all correspondences in WRITING, and do what's right and you'll survive
