just got across Blitzkrieg. What a game, anyone else who played it??

This is another RTS game (not the general) Its so demanding in a way that unlike C&C series where you can use resouces to generate new units but in blitzkrieg, you will be allocated fixed units (you can call in paratroopers as in airsupport tab) but the machanized units are fixed and you have to make a harmonized use of their abilities to get the things done. For example pitting the Tanks forward alone will make them a pray of enemy anti tank weaponary. Likewise you can not pit infantry against tanks as the tanks will blow them away. you can not send in bomber Airsupport blindely as if enemy AAs are there, they will shot down the bombers and once the bombers are shot down, you will lose the option of calling in bombers (likewise for paradrop and recon as well). to make it more realistic, the ammo is also limited on the machines (artilary has 80 rounds and tanks about 60) so you can not use them overwhelmingly as once the ammo is out, these units can not replenish their ammo. So I found it really challanging and far far far more interesting than the traditional general or red alert series.

and one more thing, once you lose a unit in a specific chapter, you will not be able to have that unit in the successive missions of that specific chapter

Try sudden strike 2 instead, or resource wars and imagine rolling an assault force with petrol tankers and ammunition trucks.

I've played Sudden strike 1 and 2, Code Name Panzer, Wanted to try Blitzkrieg but i don't have enough time now.

I still wish I had time to play those titles. I tried sudden strike 3 a couple of years back and immediately uninstalled it. I would recommend staying away from it all together. Anyway blitzkrieg and sudden strike are CDV titles so wont be much different.
