I did overdo my leg training as Thursday a bit and my leg muscles ache because of that. I have a competition next friday and i must be sure that i´m at 100% then. Asked my doc and he prescribed me a deep tissue massage at my physiotherapist. I got my appointment tomorrow. Form what i heared it can be a bit painful.

Has anyone some insight?

An answer for u ;
It "hurts so good"

Now, of course this is just a figure of speech. It really should feel good but also a level of pain that does not make your body tense up should be acceptable. If you're feeling pain try to breath through it, but as long as you are not tensing up anywhere else, it's good.

Also, don't be afraid to tell your therapist to change the pressure. They will apply what that intuitively believe is the correct amount of pressure for your body, but open feedback from the client is very important. If it's too much for you, say something and your therapist should let up on the pressure.

After all, you should enjoy your massage

Depends on who ( how much they have experience) it's done by. Depending on how long you had the injury you will need someone with many years of experience.

If you're looking into deep tissue massage, it might be better depending on costs to look at acupuncture (to be done by a old Chinese, or Asian, woman, trust me on this).

I have... once a while.. better than thai massage(never again)... but i can not tell if it is swedish or deep tissue massage..
its all depends on the masseuse though...
I knew on eastern european girl(from latvia or some exotic country)... she gave the most amazing massage.. ... I loved the music, candles.. hot oil.. everything perfect... unfortunately I lost her number after a big gap, and she has moved.

The more muscle you have the more it hurts. Very thick skin cream helps. Ask your physiotherapist whether you should do stretches before or afterwards.

Well i know...thats the bad aspect of bodybuilding. I rarely have aching muscles but when it happens, it hurt like hell. This spring i got a cramp in my abs and that did hurt like hell.

Never did acupuncture. It sounded quite obscure for me.

I got a massage on my shoulders last week which was quite relaxing. Even so it hurt when she did it. Also its funny that after that, you feel super sleepy.
