Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said that some hostile elements were using the judges of the country to disarm his party, including those from the Supreme Court. Unfortunately, even the judges of the Supreme Court are involved in the practice of annihilating the MQM, Hussain said while addressing a large gathering via telephone on Sunday. Hussain said that the judges claim to have passed an order for delimitation of constituencies in Karachi to improve the law and order situation and to bar one party for gaining massive electoral support, but such a statement was against the MQM. He warned the judges to apologise for their remarks against the MQM or their names will be wiped out.
Hussain also urged Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to take
suo motu notice of the judges who used derogatory language
against the MQM. I want to tell the judges that they cannot take away the democratic rights of the people, he said while terming the remarks by the judges unconstitutional and unlawful.
It was against Article 25 of the Constitution. The article 25 says all
citizens are equal before the law and are entitled to equal protection of
human rights Then are they [judges] not violating the Constitution? Is
this not a crime? Hussain said while adding that it was also against
the oath that judges take before assuming their role.
The party chief maintained that the Supreme Courts decision will not
improve the law and order situation but will rather worsen it. To improve the law and order, it is important that such judges are
expelled or the Chief Justice should take suo motu action If the chief
justice doesnt take action then the case will go into the peoples
court. According to Hussain, the Supreme Court bench ordered the electioncommission to complete the delimitation of constituencies in Karachi in a way that no party can have monopoly, which was against the law and the Constitution.
No judge has the right to order the election commission to stop a
party from having monopoly. It is the right of the people to give
mandate to a party. Hussain also quoted former Chief of Army Staff Asif Nawaz Janjua whosaid that Hussains chapter has closed. The MQM chief retorted, Altaf Hussains chapter was opened by Allah and will be closed by Him too. You are a human being on the earth, wearing a uniform, pretending to be god. Your name will be wiped out
