Quite surprising to say the least that our ancient chinese brethren's have admired the Ummah. I have seen ancient chinese historians describe other civilization but this is the first time they prasied a civilization like this and described it as extremely powerful, influential and wealthy.

This historian seems like he has covered alot of ground. His been to all the way to Al-Andalus, Sicily, North Africa, Indonesia, Iraq, Sham, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Egypt. Never heard of this traveller before and his very pragmatic in his ways of telling things. He should be right up there with Ibn Battuta and Marco Polo who enjoy recognition for their works and recordings but his extremely underrated

It was a collection by various travellers likely under a king's order collected by Zhao Rukuo into a book called Zhu Fan Zhi. They wanted to map the world like every other nation back then by sending people out to various places to understand whos there and ambassadors so forth and so on. Every other nation has also send people to China in order to understand it's local policies and trade etc etc. The ancient world was always inter-connected info wise.

There is a segment in Ibn Battuta's tale as he was leaving India he meet in a mosque someone else coming from China an ambassador who told him that the Yuan dynasty was toppled by the Ming dynasty just recently and that his mandate ended since the regime he was a mandate for got toppled.. The information was key because Ibn Battuta was going to China himself at that point and he left for china months after that

China and the Islamic world historically had friendly and profitable relations. It was very different than the relationship between Europe and the Islamic world.
