Amtrak is bringing High Speed Rail to Texas?!​

A company called Texas central was suppose to build this route. If they dropped it and Amtrak picked it up and has the funding secured, then good luck to them.

Most of the U.S. railways are only kept to bare minimum freight standards (if that), as they don't have to accommodate passenger trains.


Train derailments in the U.S. are normal.


It's cheaper than fixing the tracks.

In 2022, there were more than 1,000 train derailments in the U.S.​

There were at least 1,164 train derailments across the country last year, according to data from the Federal Railroad Administration. That means the country is averaging roughly three derailments per day.
