Ally Iran offers help to flood effected areas to help Pakistani Economy

TEHRAN – Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar has said that Tehran is ready to provide assistance to Pakistan to help with the reconstruction process in the flood-stricken areas.

Najjar who travelled to Pakistan on September 28 to inspect the process of delivering the humanitarian aid Iran has sent to the flood-hit country, made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad on the same day..

The Iranian interior minister said that Iran is keen to expand cooperation with Pakistan in all areas.

He also said that both countries have been taking serious measures in the campaign against drugs.

Najjar also stated that the great country of Pakistan has the capability to resolve the problems facing the country.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he said that the presence of foreign forces in the region is the main source of insecurity and instability.

Zardari thanked Iran for the flood assistance it sent to Pakistan and called for the expansion of ties between the two countries.

He also called on the interior ministers of both countries to take measures necessary to establish a joint security commission with the aim of expanding security cooperation.

During his stay in Pakistan, Najjar announced that Iran and Pakistan will sign a security agreement in the near future. :whistle:
