Alaa Wardi's Capella-style version of Jiya re goes viral

Alaa Wardi is an Iranian-born singer based in Saudi Arabia whose vocal harmonies and one-man music videos have become big hits on the web.

His version of the AR Rahman song Jiya Re from the film Jab Tak Hai Jaan is being shared by Internet users on Facebook and Twitter.

What's so special? Alaa Wardi has generated the sounds for the bass, clap, strings and many other instruments using his mouth. The a capella musician is just of the many independent music producers who post their works on YouTube.

The video already has 1,68,710 hits in two days. Previously, his version of Pehla Nasha, which he dedicated to his favourite actor, Aamir Khan, received 7,06,626 hits.

Wardi had hit the headlines worldwide in 2011 when his recreation of Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram's 'Fi Hagat' had become popular in Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
