Upbeat by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent decision to buy 36 Rafale fighters to fulfill the immediate requirement of the country, top brass of the Indian Air Force charted out the future roadmap to augment the squadron strength during the three-day Commanders' conference, which concluded here today.

"During the conference, future plans for enhancing IAF's capability were also discussed," an official statement said, without elaborating much on it. The air force commanders briefed Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha on various issues relating to operational capability, maintenance and HR, it said. On the last day, representatives of Ordinance Factory Board (OFB), Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) briefed the Air Chief in the presence of Secretary, Defence Production.
