13 CRPF men injured in Khanyar explosion
Hizb claims responsibility for the attack
Srinagar: Eleven CRPF men were Thursday injured when militants lobbed a grenade a CRPF camp in Khanyar area of Srinagar.
CRPF spokesman, Bhavesh Choudhary said over phone that 11 of its men were injured in the attack on the camp in Ikhwan hotel.
“Out of 11 persons, four were injured critically. But all the wounded are out of danger, and are under treatment at SMHS hospital,” the spokesman said.
However, the spokesman ruled out that it was a grenade attack, saying that “some object was thrown towards the camp at 7.30 pm which created an explosion.”
Meanwhile, Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Thursday claimed responsibility for the grenade attack on CRPF camp in Khanyar here.
In a tele-statement, Hizb Operational Spokesman Burhan-u-din claimed that three CRPF personnel were killed in the grenade attack.
“At 8 pm this evening, Hizb attacked a CRPF camp in Srinagar. Three CRPF men were killed and 11 were injured, some of them critically,” the spokesman claimed.
“Hizb-ul-Mujahideen has asked its militants to intensify their attacks on Indian army in Kashmir,” he said.
The attack comes two day ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally in Srinagar on November 7. (KNS)
