Hello everyone
Yesterday I came back from abbotabad from a two day trip.As many of you probably know the city is beautiful and serene and is mostly a military garrison. I won't be posting pics of the the city or military garrison but I would love to share pics of a place where lot of history is buried.I am a talking about abbotabad cementry which was established in 1853 and between 1853 and 1947 only Christians of European decent were buried here. I stayed at Piffers mess and the cementry was at a walking distance at the backside of a mess .Muslim family of caretakers are taking care of the graveyard since 1902 and before that the Gurkha regiment was taking care.
Notable people buried here are Major Hugh Rees James,Major Leigh Richmond battye,Colonel AW Crookshank and Lady Julia Helen palmer the first wife of General Arthur power palmer the first commander in chief of India. The above mentioned people and most other were died in the 18th century.
The first pic is the oldest grave of cementry the person died in 1853.

At sites like findagrave.com I was able to see pics of some deceased people and their distant relatives now living in UK.It was like living and feeling that 18th century era.

Extraordinary that someone finds beauti in forgotten graves, graves are an eternal reminder that one day every one must perish
The difference between royalty and servility vanishes
The moment the writing of destiny is encountered
If one opens the grave of a dead
None would be able to discern rich from poor
