LAHORE: A bomb – found near the Lahore railway station - was defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on Sunday, Express News reported.

According to police officials, security officers stopped a man over suspicion and found a bomb in his bag along with a remote control.

Police official Anjum Abbas said that the man carrying the bomb was taken into custody but has not been identified as yet.

The bomb reportedly weighed around 3 kilogrammes.

Four terror suspects arrested

LAHORE: Law enforcement agencies on Sunday arrested four alleged terrorists from different places in the city and recovered explosive material.

Police sources said officials of LEAs conducted raid at R-Block Model Town and G-block Liaquatabad and arrested four suspects.

The alleged terrorists were nabbed on information of the earlier arrested seven terrorists.

The accused had link with a banned organisation.

Meanwhile, police foiled a major terrorism bid at park adjacent to Lahore Railway station as it recovered and defused a bomb.

The LEAs personnel, on a tip off, recovered a bomb weighing 3 kg. Police said the explosives were connected with a remote controlled device by miscreants which could have caused large-scale destruction during the weekly holiday when people visit the park in large numbers. agencies
