3 children among 9 killed in explosion near Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Nine people – including three children – were killed while 17 others sustained injuries in an explosion in the Badaber area near Peshawar, Express News reported on Sunday.

According to the initial details, the blast targeted an FC vehicle. The injured were taken to the Lady Reading hospital and Combined Military Hospital.The injured include security officers, women and children.The exact nature of the blast is not known as yet.

The explosion was followed by an exchange of fire between FC officers and armed assailants.Police have cordoned off the area and started a search operation.

This is a developing story and will be updated accordingly.
