'$24.03bn textile products exported; $4.73bn imported'

RECORDER REPORT ISLAMABAD: A total of $ 24.03 billion textile products were exported, while US $ 4.73 billion imported during last two financial years. Federal Minister for Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim said this in his written reply to a question to the National Assembly. He said the United Arab Emirates, China, USA, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Germany, UK, India, Afghanistan and Japan remained Pakistan's big trading partners during last four years. In another written reply to a question, the minister said that 3, 67037 MT rice was exported to various countries during 2010-11. He said that Pakistan exported rice to Afghanistan, Australia, Canada, Iran, Italy, Algeria and many other countries. Similarly, he said Pakistan earned $ 33.8 million of foreign exchange through mangoes export during 2010-11, which is 12.3 percent more than the previous year. Pakistan can export more textile products than $24.03bn if we dont have power crises ........ our textile industry is not working on full scale when they will start working on full scale we will be able to earn more $
