KARACHI - At least 152 suspects, among them assassins and gangsters, were rounded up in ongoing targeted operation in Karachi on Sunday.
A spokesperson for Rangers said the arrested persons included nine hardened criminals who were arrested in raids and snap checking near Lucky Star and Board Office, Chowrangi. Weapons were also seized from them, he added.
The raids by police and Rangers were carried out in Quaidabad, Green Town, Nazimabad, Nishter Road area, New Karachi, Orangi Town, Shah Faisal Colony, Abidabad area of Baldia, Gulberg, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Manzur Colony and other areas.
Similarly, an affiliate of Lyari gangsters was arrested in a raid on Nishter Road. Mansoor Baloch alias Bublee had links with the banned Peoples Amn Committee and he was wanted to law-enforcement agencies in a number of cases of serious nature, including targeted killing. The Rangers spokesperson said 223 rifle, 7mm rifle, 9mm pistol, ammunition and narcotics were seized from him.
In another raid, two political workers along with weapons were apprehended by Rangers personnel in Abul Hassan Ispahani locality.
Identity of the two activists was not disclosed. Sources said the raid was conducted on a tip-off and that both of them were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
Seventy-three alleged criminals, including 42 absconders, 10 robbers, two murderers were netted by Karachi police. Eighteen weapons and narcotics were also seized during the raids. Separately, district west police claimed to have apprehended 48 alleged criminals, including 36 absconders. They also claimed to have recovered weapons, one repeater, six pistols, one dagger, four motorcycles and narcotics.
Similarly, district east police claimed they apprehended 16 alleged criminals, including two absconders, during raids and snap checking.
They also claimed to have recovered nine pistols, four cellphones and two motorcycles.
Separately, two criminals wanted by Karachi police in cases of crime and terrorism were arrested from Swat. The arrested persons were identified as Nawab and Ikram.
Police officials said the suspects were involved in targeted killings, attacks on law-enforcement agencies and terrorism and other crimes. The suspects hailed from Swat and Mardan.
Meanwhile, a suspected criminal, Bakhtiar, was arrested but his three associates managed to escape under the cover of firing during an encounter with police in Sultanabad area.
Human remains found

Police found human remains in a gunny sack in Orangi Town on Sunday.
According to SHO Pervez Gujjar, the remains were of a woman. He said the limbs, that had been badly burnt, were shifted to a morgue after medico-legal formalities at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
Separately, a body was recovered from an under-construction building near the Supreme Court. Police believed the man had died of heart attack. Police moved the body to a morgue for identification after autopsy at Civil Hospital Karachi. The actual cause of death will be confirmed after autopsy report comes in.

i dont know, where its going to end, but at least its been showen , that law enforcers can get upper hand, whenever theh be needed, & there can be a strong law arm in karachi!
