    I already said its good for deterrence, China is not an enemy unless our deterrence is weak. I'm not a fan of BrahMos-A i don't see its benefits beside deterrence. Go ask army or veterans who had played with INSAS so far i got positive responses though i don't expect you to get that.

    At present brahMos-A have 450 km range, it will be launched before such contestant in the air. If its a long range mission then it will need escort which will be Su-30s with PESA radar anyway. BrahMos-A is good for deterrence though.

    MAybe thats why we're buying from Russia directly, Su-30 will be equipped with BrahMos only so Russia can upgrade its radar to AESA if needed(Though i don't think its needed). Also India-Russia will have export orders too so its worth investing.
