basically the guy is trying to say the bridge was not built properly because he could remove nuts with his hands(hinting at corruption). Its a political statement.
Its a weird take, not to develop your own country just so that others might not get any benefit :)
the ferry crossing was horrible, this will improve communication, and local business will benefit a lot(especially in south BD)
Congrats to BD and Sk Hasina govt. Lot of people saying AL benefited a lot from corruption but I dont think it will be any different with any other govt.(not saying corruption is good, its just a fact of life in a lot of countries)
I sincerely believe it has potential to transform south BD.(not...
the article left out 'sadguru', the darling of educated hindus... :)
guess the profession itself attracts a certain type of people, west got motivational speakers and we got gurus/storytellers.
I too think UAE is the best place to move to. lot of people from west are moving to UAE. Low crime and safe place to bring up your family. Also not far from Pakistan.
Bangladesh is not a good option if you want to live in Dhaka(very crowded). Although people will welcome you but not sure how...
I would not say Bangladesh is radicalised, the culture is pretty permissive, boys and girls mingle easily.
also the idea that anybody who wears burqa must be conservative is not true, lot of young girls do wear it(although they are a minority), usually from lower economic background. but they...
this system is open to abuse by the 'leaders' who will be needed to maintain the equality among masses. Also a lot of advancement in human life has been via entrepreneurship and it need certain level of freedom and risk taking capability(which needs high level of reward to motivate people). such...
Bangladesh does appear to have better communal harmony than India but one cant attribute that to economic success. May be Bangladesh has better governance because its a single party democracy (bit like china :) )

its easy to say 'bad consequence' when you are...
I have lived near both masjid and temple. Its the early morning azan / bhajan I find the most annoying. The azan at least lasts only 3 minutes or so, bhajan goes forever. :(

Loud speakers in religious institutions should be banned from routine use. Only on specific days may be, that too during day time.(same applies to political or social event)
you might have long list of demands from a govt but my point was its not ok to force women(or men for that matter) to wear/not wear certain clothing by law.
I hope the guy is punished.
I have not experienced any harassment in BD, sometimes some people might increase the price but generally they become super helpful if they know you are not local.
