Myth and Realities of Turkey's Hidden Islamist Agenda

Is there a constitutional limit on how many times a person can become PM/President? In the US, it's two terms. I hope 3rd isn't the limit in Turkey. In this economic crisis, only the leadership in Turkey and Germany seem to have a grip on things.

    Battle of Yarmouk

"Arab history" was very different for millenniums before the advent of Islam. Historically, the area was not very significant. Burying helpless little baby daughters alive, "inherit" your dad's wives, fight and kill enemy tribes for centuries over trivial stuff. Islam transformed them from that...

Please enable Tapatalk, make iPhone&Android browsing MUCH easier

Tapatalk's a plugin that makes browsing forums on the iPhone/Android much more intuitive, no more sideways scrolling or UI glitches. It's one of top-selling apps on iPhone's appstore and Android's market because of it's forum prowess. I hope the admins consider installing the plugin - it's...

Guns and Androids: Pakistan air force making iPads

I wonder if they're having any success at sales. The tablet might be cheaper than other Android tablets, but ~15,000 is still makes it a luxury item, where people can spend extra and get something better(if these products, or support services aren't up to par). They need something much cheaper...

ISI chief secretly meets Musharraf in Dubai: sources

The "media sources" are very flexible. Media sources reported that the ISI chief was meeting to restore American supply routes a month ago, nothing happened. Media sources reported that ISI chief had multiple secret meetings with Imran Khan, helping him arrange his jalsas - even though, when...

Reply to Asad Munir's allegation on Imran Khan's flawed logic !!

I agree with you - FATA does have all those things these days, smuggling, human trafficking and drug trafficking. However, you have to look at it in a historic perspective. All this crime was simply NOT emanating from Afghanistan before the US invaded and squatted in the place. Americans let...

Reply to Asad Munir's allegation on Imran Khan's flawed logic !!

FATA was always accessible to other Pakistanis, even Imran Khan extensively toured the area, he's got many pictures from there in his book, "An Indus Journey". You are correct in that people are not secure in FATA these days without local affiliation and protection. However, this only began...

Reply to Asad Munir's allegation on Imran Khan's flawed logic !!

@Leader - I don't follow what you mean. The blogger's points shred Asad Munir's criticism of Imran Khan to pieces. Asad Munir contended that Imran Khan was wrong about the basic facts on the ground, but many of the points the blogger raises contradicts Asad Munir. Now does Asad Munir agree with...

Have you actually even read that book, or are you just passing judgement on stuff you know absolutely nothing about?

Reply to Asad Munir's allegation on Imran Khan's flawed logic !!

Well, many of the things the guy based his argument on, were factually wrong. The guy is either a very mis-informed idiot, or more likely(given the "pointed" nature of all the things he said), he had an agenda and was intentionally trying to mislead.

Reply to Asad Munir's allegation on Imran Khan's flawed logic !!

@Leader - this was my take on this issue. The Express Tribune article by the brig. even had some factual inaccuracies, and I've addressed them above.

Imran Khan’s flawed logic on the war on terror

These "tribal lunatics" have always been very patriotic Pakistanis. In 1948 when India attacked Kashmir and Pakistan had no army worth it's name, these "tribal lunatics" went ahead and captured Azad Kashmir and Baltistan. With India's pro-Afghan policies having their effect, when the Afghan army...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 4]

I'll agree that the F-16, esp. earlier blocks, are pretty nimble. But the JFT is known to have defeated it in mock dogfights. Other factors like pilot skills also factor in, but this empirically shows that the JFT can hold it's own. Col. Terrance Fornhof(the same guy who famously disparaged...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 4]

@stormforce Are you making multiple posts to increase your post count? Stop flooding. JF-17's known to have defeated the F-16 in mock combats, hence, more manouverable. It's got a smaller Radar Cross-Section. It's going to be integrated with more types of weaponry than the F-16s. It doesn't...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 4]

Rightnow, alot of what we have are off-hand references. Argentina's main combat aircraft, the Mirage-III's are relatively old now and would near the end of their"airframe life" in the not-too-distant future. And due to this, Argentina is identified as one of the South American countries that...

    Muslims -- India's new 'untouchables'

This was bound to happen to Muslims in India. Muslims in India saw the Hindus use their larger numbers to "democratically" squeeze Muslims in Bengal in 1906(joined Bengal into a larger Hind-majority province, from the Muslim majority province it had become) and it was because of this, that the...

imran khan Great Speech today at UNITY DINNER- Must listen

@arushbhai Those are the exact propaganda points PML-N dishes out, but they are easily answered. * "Hypocrite who doesn't like to gamble but gambled himself on cricket?" Using his cricket experience, he ADVISED his brother-in-law on how well various players were performing during a match and...
