It's not that easy to mass produce engines you know. As you mentioned before, there were some serious issues with the WS-10 in the beginning, and it has only started mass production two years ago. It takes some time to scale it up so that it can satisfy J-11B, J-15, AND J-10 production...

Where is it tested? It's already being equipped en masse on J-11B's! Even J-15 prototypes use a variant of the WS-10 now.

I'm sure the Chinese military isn't as far behind their American counterpart as much as say the North Vietnamese military did in the 70's or the Chinese/North Koreans did in the 50's. In the end, the Americans lost both wars. This proves that you don't have to be superior than the U.S. to win...

Yea, that's one of my dreams too lol. Like somebody else already said, it's like owning your own private movable island! As far as military use though, I think something in the class of the Invincible is just not very useful for most big militaries these days.

L-15 and JL-9 for beginners? Really? What's the point of building a single seat trainer? Why not just build more regular fighters if you want more planes for veteran pilots to train with? That way they can train in the EXACT planes they'll be fighting in, AND it reduces logistics complexity...

Well that's the point... If the same amount of gunpowder is used, then a heavier bullet would have less velocity. And since velocity also affects kinetic energy(Ek = 1/2 * mv^2), then a heavier bullet with less velocity does not necessarily mean higher kinetic energy.

There have been some photos that are rumored to be 056's being built. They provide fleet air defense, a very important role. As for the Varyag, it should have about 40 aircrafts or so, they'll use the J-15 primarily on the carrier.
