I think its better if they could finish the project already started i.e, J-31. In that way they can focus their resources. A third 5th gen project? Not a good idea.
Agreed but those are Chinese preferences, what is our game plan? We are waiting for what? Its not necessary that an airforce should start piling up military toys, but at least there should be some planning. Either PAF thinks they are too smart to share any info to the public or they don't have a...
I think PAF need to commit to something at least if not J-10. They are showing no advancement in J-31 development hoping that Chinese only will finance it. But for China, J-31 is not a priority, they are already doing well with J-20. Procurement from US seems impossible, Europe is expensive and...
I think the first thing to do is to establish intellectual base, i.e, to have a world class university dedicated to R&D in the aviation and aeronautics fields. But when we look around, there are actually quite some institutions there already in this field. First and foremost is the IST...
Pakistan must NOT host these unthankful people anymore. However, as our leaders are morons with zero IQ level, we should expect another extension, infact a life time extension.
@Viper0011.
Any idea of the percentage of composite materials being used in Block II machines? Is this facility setup in Pakistan as well or only China got the capability?
Any specific reason that they have reduced the size of machine instead of increasing? May be they have designed more compact avionics? Also the reduced height may result into even less ground clearance. IMHO, JF-17's ground clearance is already very small (say compared to Mirage machines).
Agreed, Ch. Nisar concerns are right.
Basically Army thinks Pakistan as their personal property. They can grab any piece of land and hand it over to any country as a gift.
They never thought once about local people while accepting millions of Afghan refugees, foreign terrorists like Uzbeks...
The above specs in the pictures show that:
JF-17B is shorter than JF-17A (14.93 vs 14.5m)
JF-17B height is less than JF-17A (4.6 vs 4.72m)
Payload is better (4500 vs 3600kg(Blk I))
Aren't these strange parameters? They could keep the same length to accommodate more fuel? Any expert here...
It seems a tough nut for Sri Lankans to crack. They can not withstand the Indian pressure. They will eventually go for Russian Mig29. But that will cost them much in long term b/c of twin engine maintenance saga. LCA Tejas, I think, needs a bit more time to become a serious candidate for this...
