    Turkish Politics & Internal Affairs

An interesting quote from Ataturk's Nutuk, regarding the Caliphate, Islamiyet and Islamic unity: “Ortaya atılan görüş şuydu: Avrupa’da, Asya’da, Afrika’da ve diğer kıt’alarda yaşayan Müslüman toplumları, gelecekte herhangi bir gün kendi irade ve arzularını kullanacak bir güç ve özgürlüğe...

Rebuilding the army of Genghis Khan

The genetic makeup of the Turkish people is something that is quite complex and cannot be summarized in statements like: "Look at Kazakhs and look at Turks in Turkey, it seems that Turkey Turks are just a bunch of muslim Greeks and Arabs" or "The real Turks are pure mongoloid" When you look at...

Turkey's Strategic Power Projection by 2023

We don't need a medieval empire. We need a modern republic, where everyone can live in prosperity and peace. We need to move on. It is our task my friends to accomplish that. We Turkish citizens, in the country or abroad. The guy in your profile picture is one of the men responsible for...

    The Fight against PKK Terrorism

    The Fight against PKK Terrorism

The only ethnicity in Turkey which has never had an own state are the Kurds. So other ethnicities, which actually most of them always fought for the Turkish state, should't get rights. What do you mean with no rights? What do you mean We Turks? Look at history, many great Selcuks, Ottomans, and...

    The Fight against PKK Terrorism

But there is a difference between ethnicities living in current Turkey longer than Turks themselves, and immigrants who have been living in a country for 50 years. Well that's not a realistic image of Anatolia. Yes the majority is Turkish and Turkish only, but there are also other ethnic...

    The Fight against PKK Terrorism

The people who did things like the 80's coup can hardly be called Kemalists. It's like saying the Democratic Republic of Korea is really democratic

    The Fight against PKK Terrorism

This is what Turkey's enemies want, divide us in parts. The problem with Turkish politics is that they tend to lock their minds to the past. CHP looks to Ataturk, AKP to Ottomans, MHP has a bunch of abstract ideologies. Maybe we should look at the future for once.

Yes indeed, also a funny thing is 'haçan', which means 'ne zaman', is also being used in for example the black sea region. It strongly resembles 'qaşan', which means the same in Kazakh and Kyrgyz

Hello friends, Thanks for sharing this. I really enjoyed this documentary, especially regarding language. I think I heard them saying 'meh', instead of al (almak) , as in take this, but I'm not sure. Do the Kyrgyz also use 'meh', with the same meaning. I've also heard it being used in my...

    Poll: Turkey's possible future union

Turkey will never be a member of the EU, for she is not seen as an equal, but a convenient servant at most. Many Europeans still see Turkey and Turks as barbarians and a threat, especially in the coming 50 years when Turkey hopefully will become a developed regional power. They will never let...

I find the kypchak branch of our languages one of the most interesting ones to study, because of it's evolvement being quite distinct from Oghuz (especially anatolian) Turkish. So is anyone here specialized in kypchak?
