Bangladeshi group may be involved in Mumbai attacks

Most people also believe in some one or the other sort of imaginary guy who grants wishes if you talk to him. In 3000 BC, everybody thought that the earth was flat. Doesn't make it true, does it?

War ready? Defence Minister says snap red tape first

Bhai, the minister can only take decisions. He cannot speed up the beaureaucracy if the beaureaucracy wants to take its own time. For that to happen, the beaureaucracy has to implement reforms, which is kinda hard because the people implementing them are beaureaucats!!

Taliban kidnap 29 Pakistani police and FC

There is, and Mukherjee had said as much in a later interview. Is this what you are referring to? India's prime minister says the perpetrator and supporters of the terror attacks on Mumbai will pay a heavy price. India: Mumbai Attackers and Supporters Will Pay Heavy Price How is that a...

Taliban kidnap 29 Pakistani police and FC

I clearly remember, Agno, and don't hesitate to correct me if I'm wrong, that the first bit of news about troop movements came from Pakistan. That was after Pranab Mukherjee's "all options are open" comment on NDTV, which was misinteerpreted by all parties as an indication that India was about...

Taliban kidnap 29 Pakistani police and FC

And the Pakistani media? I suppose they were trying to play down the tensions? I do agree that sections of the Indian media were very aggressive (I mentioned it in the previous post). But what I'm talking about, is the response of the governments, not the media.

Taliban kidnap 29 Pakistani police and FC

I completely disagree with that. If fatman117 and other senior members are to be believed, the war against the Taliban will not be won by massing troops and artillery in the plains, but by well planned and executed Counterinsurgency operations involving single units that would be as agile and...

Nation to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day today: February 5th

How about a Anti-Fundamentalism day, to drum up solidarity against Islamic fundamentalists? Now that might actually help Pakistan, and for that matter, Kashmir.

Ancient History not Appreciated by Pakistanis?

That is totally wrong Khajur. South Indians were not "pushed downwards" by the invading aryans. South Indians have inhabited south India for as long as humans have lived in the indian subcontinent.

Ancient History not Appreciated by Pakistanis?

True, but significant sites exist in India as well (Lothal, Rakhigarhi, Banawali, Ropar, Dholavira etc). A couple of major sites haven't been excavated either. The ratio of sites would be around 70-30 or 60-40 depending on which source you consider. Again, if you claim that IVC is a...

Ancient History not Appreciated by Pakistanis?

So, if Mehrgarh people were the predecessors of IVC, then it would seem that the GGC people and the Mehrgarh people might have common ancestor, or possibly the IVC people migrated Northwest? If we look at the history of Mehrgarh, the civilization apparently died out around 2600 BC and its...

    Nepal reclaims lands from India

The Per Capita Income doesn't really matter. What matters is the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) figures, which tell you how much you can buy rather than how much you earn. I think that food prices in India (wheat, rice) are significantly lower than those in Pakistan. Am I correct?

Agriculture – pay attention or starve

Very correct. With current production trends, the world will be unable to feed itself in a couple of decades (even today Africa and parts of Asia can't do it properly). In Asia, China I think is taking the lead in this - making people give up subsistence farming and moving them to cities, while...
