Athens in flames after passage of austerity measures

Well.. That is something we might have to wait for a long time. I only saw a mass-protest in the US twice. Once at the G8 in 1998 and the police was not kind.. and once against the Iraq-War which then started anyway. I am not sure the youth in the US sees any good and protesting, many have...

Syrian forces kill 24, protesters tell Assad to go

O Rly? Like standing idly by and doing nothing while people in their neighboring countries (like Syria and Libya) are being slaughtered in the streets? Please.. most don't even recognize the Charter of Human Rights. Maybe Turkey intervenes to stop the flow of refugees, but I doubt it.

Athens in flames after passage of austerity measures

What do you mean? This developement originated in the US to a large extent and has been happening there for 20 years. However the US doesn't really have any more social programs to cut (except Medicare/Medicaid) and has already 14 trillion dollars of debt.. So it has been and is beeing milked...

Athens in flames after passage of austerity measures

A little off-topic don't you think..? Well, short answer: No it is not the "origin", but classical Greek civilization has laid many of the foundations of what later would be considered western civilization like inventing democracy, relying on science a naturalistic naturalistic approach to the...

Athens in flames after passage of austerity measures

You are right. However that is only half the story. There is - once again - a massive shift towards private gain and public loss. European Banks who hold most of the Greek debt are given public money to "get out before its too late" and the European Taxpayer is left with more debt and wortless...

8 suicide bombers, 10 others killed in attack at Kabul hotel

I am not sure they where actually "suicide bombers". They stormed the hotel shooting people and trying to take hostages and get the hotel under control. They didn't blow themselves up. Apparently their aim was to show that "no one" and "no where" in Afgh is safe. They shot high Afghani officials...

    Video Gamers report in!

Started The Witcher 2, great game, very tough in the first Act though. One of the best Single Player RPG's. It is like playing a brilliant novel that's how good story, characters and atmosphere are. and your choices matter like in few other games. Very good graphics too. The Combat system takes...

The West Is Terrified Of Arabic Democracies

Wow.. That has to be one of the biggest lies on here.. the "Ignorance"-Award clearly goes to you this week. Why is it that some Muslims always try to take credit for stuff "in the name of Islam" that isn't at all related? Democracy was practiced first by classical Greeks hundreds...

Why Is Indian Food So Popular All Over The World?

I like it because it uses so many spices and is "full" of taste, without being unhealthy. "Real" Indian food is way to hot for my european tongue though ;). So it needs to be tonned down in terms of the curry. But its really tasty, especially what it does with chicken.
