Libya: Qaddhafi Violates Ceasefire, Foreign Forces Mount Attack

The Preadtor strikes are to target al Quaida and Taliban insurgents in Waziristan. They are questionable to say the least, I agree. There are not a UN sanctioned, Arab league backed humanitarian intervention, but part of the "War on Terror" and there are civilian casualties, which makes them a...

Libya: Qaddhafi Violates Ceasefire, Foreign Forces Mount Attack

They are looking into the ceasefire at the NATO counsel and at participation from Arab nations. It is only half past 3 over here and it took weeks for the resolution to pass. What is the rush?

Libya: Qaddhafi Violates Ceasefire, Foreign Forces Mount Attack

Nobody is bombing the hell out of any place... watch the video from Al Jazeera which explains what is planned and what is going to go down. I can understand you have bad experiences in Pakistan with the predator strikes and all and you have every right to be skeptical, but this is a measure...

Libya: Qaddhafi Violates Ceasefire, Foreign Forces Mount Attack

What happens in Bahrain and Yemen is as troubling but maybe the dictators there are discouraged by this resolution from continuing their atrocities. What the hell are you talking about, the US administration was not on the forefront of this at all and rather skeptical. It was unwilling even to...

Libya: Qaddhafi Violates Ceasefire, Foreign Forces Mount Attack

Resolution specifics: The UN Security Council resolution, passed on Thursday, authorises a no-fly zone over Libya and "all necessary measures" to protect civilians from attacks by Muammar Gaddafi's forces. These are the key points: * Demands "the immediate establishment of a ceasefire and...

Libya: Qaddhafi Violates Ceasefire, Foreign Forces Mount Attack

Yeah we (Germany) abstained too and I think that is okay since supporting the resolution and then not participating militarily would be inconsistent and although I am of course for protecting the civilian population it is a risky step with unclear consequences...

Libya: Qaddhafi Violates Ceasefire, Foreign Forces Mount Attack

The Libyan opposition asked for it, the Arab league demanded it and the UN security council authorized it. That's who "gave them the right". Killing your population is not "internal affairs" and the UNSC can legally authorize military interventions..

Libya: Qaddhafi Violates Ceasefire, Foreign Forces Mount Attack

The ceasefire declaration sound bogus to me. Only the foreign minister talked about it. It looks like tactical positioning. Lets wait and see if they actually keep that promise on the ground. However the people in Libya, especially Bengasi, seem to welcome the resolution and intervention...

Glenn Beck: Japan earthquake could be 'message' from God to follow the Ten

I disagree, since religion is a man-made construct in the first place. Also: "Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." ~ Steven Weinberg...

Reaction of the Americans to the Japanese natural disasters

The title of this title is like starting a thread "Why Pakistanis like terrorism", because a handful of people are not "the Americans". There are morons in every country and thanks to the internet we are much more aware of them then they deserve..

Saudi/GCC sends troops to help Bahrain's rulers

One dictator coming to another ones aid.. That is so messed up. I hope the situation doesn't get worse and devolves into full-scale civil war like in Lybia. Bahrainis (is that how you spell it?) deserve democracy and freedom like everyone!

Iran NOC oppose 'racist' London 2012 Olympic logo

As always the Iranian regime shows itself to be nothing but delusional or should I say batsh*t insane.. The Logo is pretty ugly though.. Maybe it is all a trick to prevent Iran from giving a humiliating performance at the Olympics.. Kim-Jong Ill style..
