The KALI (Kilo Ampere Linear Injector) is a linear electron accelerator being developed in India, by the Defence Research Development Organization (DRDO) and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC).
The KALI is not a laser weapon as commonly believed. It emits powerful pulses of electrons...
I agree that it was the US who first applied the findings of russian and german scientists. It still doesn't change the fact that the US developed "stealth technology" using german and soviet research.
BTW, here's something the germans were developing....
Lampyridae or Firefly is a...
The F-22 is famous for 2D thrust vectoring technology. So let's compare how russia and america has progressed in that field. First let's list the aircraft currently or previously fielded by both sides that made use of 2D thrust vectoring.
Russia:
1. Su-30
2. Yak-38 (for VTOL)
US:
1. F-22
2...
Now let's proceed to VTOL aircraft, shall we?
The Yakovlev Yak-38 was the Soviet Navy's VTOL aircraft for their light carriers, cargoships, and capital ships. It was developed from the Yakovlev Yak-36 experimental aircraft. Before the Soviet Union collapsed, a supersonic VTOL aircraft was...
You should not take the russians so lightly. Here a few examples to prove my point.
One of the things the US is most famous for developing is "stealth technology". Let's take a quick look at the history of "stealth technology".
The first true "stealth" aircraft may have been the Horten Ho 229...
If IAF doesn't choose the Rafale in MRCA, IMO they should atleast accept this offer. Of course, that would mean more platforms which equals more headaches for IAF.... If the IAF were to select the Rafale, this offer would be quite a logical decision to curb force depletions. It also gives us...
From what I understand, the French are proposing it as an interim arrangement as they feel that there may be delays in the MRCA induction. They are offering to provide 40 Rafales in a short span to help the IAF curb it's force depletion. This offer seems to be separate from the MRCA.
France offers to supply 40 Rafale fighters to IAF
As President Nicolas Sarkozy began talks with Indian leaders to boost Indo-French ties, a French company Friday offered to sell 40 of its new generation Rafale fighters to New Delhi on a fast track basis to help IAF maintain its combat edge...

Guys since there is already a thread on LCA, isn't it better to post there? It makes things more easier if the same thing isn't being discussed in different threads.

HAL Lakshya PTA and HAL Nishant are indigenous UAVs. DRDO Rustom, DRDO Pawan and DRDO Gagan are under development. IAF also operates Israeli UAVs and plans to acquire more.
hi Taimikhan. There is a thread called "China's J-12 - 5th generation multi-role jet". The discussions are however about the J-XX and the J-12 is actually a cancelled project. Do you think you can rename the thread? Thanks!
