Pakistan violates ceasefire, firing at several Indian posts: Indiatimes

They "must" have done anything. But the fact remains that Pakistan has no proof for it. :P

The primary function of the F-INSAS computer was to serve as a GPS right? What are the other functions of the computer envisioned by F-INSAS btw?

O_o I guess they weren't kidding when they said everyone will be given a handheld computer. But it is really ironic. The soldiers have a handheld, but still use a tin bucket helmet. Why? Shouldn't helmet be first priority?

Mukti Bahini must be given due credit for liberating Bangladesh: Gen Jacob

They did have overland flights over India until February 1, 1971 (Indian Airlines hijacking). But only civilian flights were allowed. They could probably transport supplies as that still isn't hostile in nature, but not ammo and fighters.

Mukti Bahini must be given due credit for liberating Bangladesh: Gen Jacob

Bengalis did contribute to the war more than they are given credit for, but do you really believe without Indian help, the PA would have been defeated in 14 days? The Mukti played a vital role. It gave us the intel and info on the geography of Bangladesh, which allowed us to fight better, and...

Mukti Bahini must be given due credit for liberating Bangladesh: Gen Jacob

A blockade means blocking all trade to any particular harbour or a country as whole. This is exactly what India did, it sealed the entire Indian Ocean, the blockade was intact all the while in those 14 days of war. That's why they sank merchant ships too. ....... Porus..... did not...

Mukti Bahini must be given due credit for liberating Bangladesh: Gen Jacob

India allowed the Pakistanis to fly over India. They banned the flights after a hijacking of an Indian Airlines flight in 1971, where the people were landed and released at Lahore, and the plane burnt. If we hadn't banned the flights, troops in Bangladesh would have permanent resupply routes...

Mukti Bahini must be given due credit for liberating Bangladesh: Gen Jacob

Indo-Pakistani Naval War of 1971 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Didn't see combat? Take a look at the infobox. Pakistan India: These ships were sunk by black magic? They did see active combat on both fronts, since they damaged both Karachi and Chittagong hrabours, and sank gunboats in...

Mukti Bahini must be given due credit for liberating Bangladesh: Gen Jacob

Operation Python and Operation Trident. Yeah it wasn't really a blockade. More like a bombardment or something. Destroying a third of a country's fuel supply is not s mall thing you know. It obviously was a killing blow. Aside from that we had blockaded the entire Indian Ocean, even at...

Mukti Bahini must be given due credit for liberating Bangladesh: Gen Jacob

It doesn't matter what he did and how he did it, the fact is, he surrendered 50,000 troops, 15,000 paramilitary, and 20,000 supporters to save his a**. They all stayed in an Indian prison until next year, when we released them. So how was this saving? Traitors, Bhratis, whoever it was who...

Mukti Bahini must be given due credit for liberating Bangladesh: Gen Jacob

But the Indian blockade quite actively stopped Pakistani shipping across the Indian Ocean. And while the blockade on Bangladesh could be termed as support, our blockade on Karachi was the killing blow, where we sank a few ships, blew up most of their fuel supplies, and destroyed their only...

Mukti Bahini must be given due credit for liberating Bangladesh: Gen Jacob

Oh sure, whose history? The flawed history taught in Pakistani schools? I can get you a picture of Niazi surrendering to a Punjabi. File:1971 Surrender of Pakistan.gif - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Do you really need a better history lesson than that?

Mukti Bahini must be given due credit for liberating Bangladesh: Gen Jacob

So according to your logic, Pakistan, that is supposed to have lost to ragtag "revolutionaries" from Bangladesh, had any chance of beating the Indians alone? F**k logic.

Mukti Bahini must be given due credit for liberating Bangladesh: Gen Jacob

Mukti Bahini would have probably won with our indirect support, but it would be a long, drawn-out battle, lasting a really long time (not exclusive to Bangladesh, it applies to any civilian revolution). India's direct involvement shortened the war to 14 days, and saved a lot of lives.

IAF had Superior airpower compared to china in 1962

Anyway, to the fools who think that we are taught in schools that we won against China, just watch the live broadcast on NDTV. It quite clearly says, "India reconciling defeat in 1962". Because we accept our mistakes, not brainwash the people to believe that we won.

IAF had Superior airpower compared to china in 1962

Please, don't kill me of laughter. An army killing a bunch of ragtag militants (from its own country) is a full scale war, but fighting another countries light infantry is a skirmish. What have you been smoking

IAF had Superior airpower compared to china in 1962

*Facepalm* I was expecting this you know. There was this tingling in my nerves telling me to expect something like this. Look at my post again please. I said numerically superior artillery. I know quite well that India hasn't purhchased new guns for a looooooong time. That should change by next...

IAF had Superior airpower compared to china in 1962

Well yeah, they just wanted to take Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh with minimal casualties. What better way to avoid casualties, than to declare a unilateral ceasefire before reinforcements arrive? That was real tactical brilliance. Attack with an 8 times larger army, destroy the tiny...

IAF had Superior airpower compared to china in 1962

You tried that in Kargil, and failed. Where's the guarantee that it will work in the future? India has no claim over Point 5353, as it lies on the LoC, and in fact Pakistani presence there is not allowed either. They are there, only 'coz India doesn't care about the peak. Those guns on 5353...

IAF had Superior airpower compared to china in 1962

Point 5353 is not really a, major peak. Most reports call it the tallest peak in Drass. It really is just the tallest in the area around it. 5353 lies on the LoC. As such, we never did control it. Pakistan took control of it from no one, and now claims to have taken it from India. 5 other major...
