    M1 trials in Pakistan

I think once the Altay MBT enters production, we might see the Pakistan Army bring it over for tests. I think the VT-4 induction paves the way for the PA's tanks getting heavier on average. So, if you're enhancing the existing logistics and infrastructure, you might as well see if the even...

HIT new project of Armored Fighting Vehicle

IMO neither the Army nor the FC/Rangers need large numbers of MRAPs. The usefulness of MRAPs is literally only useful for COIN. While we've had insurgency problems, it has never flared to the point of needing to buy 1,000+ MRAPs. We should aim to pick up 2nd hand MRAPs for pennies on the dollar...

J-35 Fighter Latest Video: Test flight progressing well! A major boost to the Chinese military

AZM is dead from what I understand. The PAF will roll its NGFA requirement into an existing overseas project. So, what you say is a possibility. The only real options the PAF has are the J-35 and TFX/MMU.

J-35 Fighter Latest Video: Test flight progressing well! A major boost to the Chinese military

It depends on China and how much it wants to prioritize a land-based export variant of the J-35. I think it'd be a pretty big opportunity for them as they'd have the only real ITAR-free next-gen fighter option on the market. IMO a land-based J-35 would easily throw the doors open into the...

    Karakorum - 8 (K-8) | Jet Trainer Aircraft.

The PAF had a LIFT tender back in 2016-2017. Based on what I heard at IDEAS 2018, the PAF had shortlisted the AVIC L-15 and the Leonardo M-346. For a time, the PAF was also considering the KAI T-50 (via LM), but when the U.S. cut Pakistan out of the FMF and CSF funds, the T-50 fell through...

Pakistan's Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircrafts

Exactly, and we can't afford to put money into something when we need to spend it elsewhere, like on the NGFA.

Pakistan's Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircrafts

To locally produce something, you need a large requirement to distribute the high upfront cost of the manufacturing line (overhead). In the best-case scenario, the PAF would order 32 medium-weight transport aircraft. That isn't nearly enough to absorb the production overhead. Rather, Pakistan...

Pakistan Air Force | News & Discussions.

Back in 1998 or 1999, Flight International reported that the PAF wanted to get another 50 F-16s on top of the Peace Gate III/IV order. This report was part of a Flight International interview with then PAF CAS, ACM Qureishi. So, it was probably true. IMO, had things gone the way the PAF had...
