JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

Because China isn't helping as much as we'd like, and we can't help ourselves.

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

If accurate, this engineering study might be more for the PAF than the TuAF. It may be a way for us to figure out how to properly integrate our own choice of radar, electronics and weapons to the JF-17. @JamD

    ATAK for Pakistan army

Yep, but that's available in both Turkey and China. It's the aircraft performance stuff that's been tricky. The AH-1Z was the PAA's ideal scenario.

    Pakistan's Service Rifle (G-3, Type-56) Replacement Competition 2016.

We won't know until the Army tests it, if it does at all.

Egypt: Talks with France over €5bn submarine deal amid country’s dire economic crisis

Pakistani establishment needs to learn from Egyptian establishment.

    Pakistan's Service Rifle (G-3, Type-56) Replacement Competition 2016.

IMO the PA has a new rifle in mind. It just hasn't signed onto a full-scale program yet because, as you said, shortage of funds and other priorities. However, I think it'll happen and, as @Zarvan has wished, will probably involve Turkish OEMs. Of the suppliers available, the Turkish ones are...

    Pakistan F-16 Discussions 2

The sun on the F-16A/B may be setting (slowly), but it's still the morning with the Block-52s. It makes total sense for the PAF to upgrade these fighters eventually, at least with the 5-6K-hour SLEP, if not the total V-package. Ideally, you'd complement those with another 18 or 36 surplus...

POF signed a contract with FEDARMS USA for a Assembly line for the production of FEDARMS AR-15

In all seriousness, this is probably the route the Pakistan Army will ultimately take once the funding is available, IMHO.

Pakistan Navy | News & Discussions.

I had thought along those lines, but after thinking about it, I noticed something. For a lot of its ships, the PN could be emphasizing the need for endurance more so than packing weapons. Basically, the FAC(M)/Azmat-class, F-22P, etc, weren't meant to stay near the shore, but rather, they were...

    ATAK for Pakistan army

Sounds like this 'indigenized' T129 could evolve into an original project. Definitely a big investment for Turkey. I wonder if the end goal here is to potentially push the T129's production to Pakistan via TAI Pakistan. So, basically, a subsidiary of TAI, but operating out of Pakistan (as a...

    ATAK for Pakistan army

6-7 ton, excellent sand filtering, hot temp operability.

    ATAK for Pakistan army

If accurate, then it seems that the PAA sought the Z-10ME for the 'heavy' requirement left by the AH-1Z, while the ATAK will manage the 'light -- i.e., armed recon, high-altitude, etc -- role.

Pakistani GIDS TAKBIR Series Satellite Aided Inertially Guided Bomb

IMO...if the cost of the inputs (e.g., mini turbojet, guidance suite, etc) goes down enough, the PAF could look to replace the H-4 with a "Ra'ad Lite" or SOM-J-type cruise missile.

PAF J-10C News, Updates and Discussion

The PAF had a LIFT requirement back in 2017-2018. For now, the PAF is running the LIFT role through the JF-17B, but the plan originally was to acquire a dedicated platform like the L-15. However, the PAF likely shelved the LIFT to dedicate resources toward the new fighter (i.e., J-10CE). It's...

US Approves Possible Sale Of F-16 Equipment To Pakistan: Pentagon

tbh I was just thinking of saying "yes" to U.S. requests, but not asking for anything besides personal benefits (e.g., green cards). My point is that I have no confidence in the ability or willingness of our leaders to pursue the national interest, even in a comprised way. We could simply be...

US Approves Possible Sale Of F-16 Equipment To Pakistan: Pentagon

This assumes that following U.S. interests = more F-16s. It could also be that our leaders have tied themselves to U.S. interests for more selfish reasons that don't have much to do with F-16s (or our national security interests in general).

    Pakistan Air Force Transport

Just one more case of why the Embraer C-390 is probably a good option for the PAF in the future. Embraer and L3 are teaming up to configure a refueling boom to the C-390. So, basically, you'd get a complete solution (boom and hose/drogue) all in one platform that can also double as a tactical...

Pakistan Navy | News & Discussions.

I think the outlier is the Type 054A/P, which is the PN's largest vessel by tonnage both today and in the roadmap. The Jinnah-class frigate (JCF) is just right from a design standpoint. Its displacement is around 3,500 tons and delivers a well-balanced AAW, AShW, and ASW capability without...

The future of air warfare: Bayraktar KIZILELMA

IMO... it looks like Baykar is secretly working on a manned carrier-borne fighter for the Turkish Navy. The twin AI-322F configuration would already give you a drone the size of the M-346, Yak-130, or L-15, i.e., 11-14 tons. I think, at that point, you're putting in a lot of investment in...
