PAKISTAN, SOUTH KOREA SIGN MAJOR DEFENCE COOPERATION AGREEMENT

@SQ8 @MastanKhan New theory. 1. Pakistan gives up on Kashmir. 2. Pakistan stops collaborating with China. 3. The U.S. encourages South Korea, Turkey, etc, to sell Pakistan arms. 4. Pakistan re-orients focus towards Afghanistan and Iran. It's starting to look like that's where Washington...

Iraq to buy 12 JF-17 Thunder jets from Pakistan

The first export customer was Myanmar. If Azerbaijan (which recognizes Israel) buys the JF-17, there's a good chance that -- eventually -- some Israeli subsystems or weapons will reach the platform, one way or another. Heck, this might even happen via the Argentinian sale.

Vigil for UW grad allegedly killed by husband in Pakistan

Islamically, we shouldn't be assuming or speculating about the people involved. Moreover, we mustn't let our personal opinions or views colour the matter, especially with regard to the potential character of the people in the case.

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

I wish/hope they match the noses and front fuselages of all of the JF-17s. That mono-color version looks so nice.

Pakistan Navy | News & Discussions.

The PN will rely on the Harbah and SMASH. I don't think they'd need the Atmaca. However, the PN might be interested in the 'Cakir' ALCM. It'd fill that longstanding gap for a Penguin-type AShM that the PN could use from its helicopters and smaller boats (like MRTP-33).

    Al-Khalid tank (Type 90-IIM / MBT-2000) Information Pool

@iLION12345_1 what's the value of moving towards electric motors, hybrid power packs, etc? I'm just guessing, but would it help with reducing the thermal signature? Or drastically reduce the noise generated by the tank? However, if they load up on batteries, wouldn't that drastically add to the...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

In fairness to H Khan, he was losing his mind about the MILGEM news for some reason. However, even he was behind the idea of not just working with Turkey, but emulating their defence industry model. In fact, the guy openly called the armed forces out for their poor marketing assets at one of the...

PAF acquires new aircraft: Bombardier Global 6000 - to be used as an aerial jammer

PAKISTAN NAVY SIGNS ORDER FOR TWENTY INDIGENOUS GUN BOATS - Oct 2022 .

It seemed the PN was originally going to go for Swiftships' 70 m corvette but pivoted to the Damen OPV. However, if you look at Swiftships' brochure, they made a lot of design changes to the 70 m corvette. Part of me wonders if they're still in talks with the PN regarding the OPV requirement.

PAKISTAN NAVY SIGNS ORDER FOR TWENTY INDIGENOUS GUN BOATS - Oct 2022 .

We'll see MRTP-33-type FAC(M)s too. The good thing about these gunboats (and Damen OPVs) is that they totally solve the peacetime requirements. Now, the PN doesn't need to mix the sea policing or anti-piracy requirements into its A2/AD assets. For the latter, the PN can finally focus on...

PAKISTAN NAVY SIGNS ORDER FOR TWENTY INDIGENOUS GUN BOATS - Oct 2022 .

tbh at the rate the PN's going, I think we'll see them start an original submarine project (e.g., with Turkey) a lot sooner than later.

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

The point you're missing is that between the drawing board and the operational realm, Turkey actually has something to talk about. We don't. That's the gap @JamD, myself, and others are trying to address. Our programs either wither away on the drawing board (e.g., AZM) or, ultimately, end up...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

Precisely. This is so much bigger than Pakistan. As you said, the whole world is watching. If China can't keep its grasp on Pakistan, then it exposes itself as a weak superpower. It shows the world that China can't translate its economic power into foreign relations clout. This is a strategic...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

Türkiye is leagues ahead in every domain. Let's talk about rockets. They've mastered dual-pulse rocket motor (DPMR) tech well enough to use it for SRAAMs, BVR AAMs, short and medium-range SAMs, and now a long-range SAM (SIPER). This is really complex and intricate stuff. They have had to master...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

If China has indeed bailed, then as @MastanKhan put it, China has no idea what it's doing. Just bear in mind, a "strong" Pakistan vis-a-vis India isn't necessary for the U.S. to use Pakistan to encircle China. The U.S. just has to make sure China can't rely on Pakistan for anything, and if what...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

It'd be a bigger strategic blunder for China to cut Pakistan loose. Basically, the Chinese know (or now know) the caliber of our rulers. This shouldn't have been news to them, but anyways, it's as clear as glass that our political and military leadership aren't "it." As a group, they're not...

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 7]

It's not just that. In fact, that aspect of the relationship is recoverable because the U.S. will drive India to intensify its anti-China focus. The issue is literally us. We don't have enough internal know-how and capacity to get the most out of the JF-17 program. We're reliant on China, and...
