    Pakistan may receive 5 Apache

I think it will be, Huey II helicopters, already being flown by a Interior Ministry squadron at Quetta. Insted of 12.7 mm guns these helos may be terofitted with 7.62 mm M60, MG1A3 types of weapons. Not a chance we getting Appaches. However, if Army is getting any thing then it will be refurb...

How Are Pilots Assigned Different Squadrons?

Pilots who drop from the FCU/OCU are not less fortunate. Even, some really dream of being a transport pilot. Flying C-130, CASA 235, Falcons, Citaton V like aircarft, puts pilots on a comparitively less risk then in a fighter jet. Unlike enduring high flying stresses, transport pilot can...

How Are Pilots Assigned Different Squadrons?

While assigning pilots to different aircarft, i think height of the pilot specially the height in sitting position is also very important. I think ejection seat of Mirage is designed that incase of ejection, seat has two prongs which shatter the canopy before the seat and the pilot comes out...

    Pakistan Army Aviation HI-RES Images

Pakistan does not produce any 12.7 mm aerial gun for helicopters and fighters. 0.5 inch browning guns are highly reliable if properly servicing and maintenence is done over the years. Similarly, rocket pods are in good condition if serviced and preserved. So, if a large amount of guns and pods...

    Best heavy lift helicopter

Talking of some of the best heavy lift helicopters, i think MI-17, and US origin CH-47 or CH-53 Stallions are among the best. MI-17 is rugged and reliable, yet it is having limited airfarme life. only 1500 hours, when it is due for completre overhaul. This helicopter can only be overhauled...

Kayani asks US to give Pakistan Cobra helicopters

I agree, Army does not need Appaches, rather more AH-1f or an upgraded model of cobra helos. There was a plan to upgrade cobra helicopters, but no one knows what is the latest on that. I think AH-64 is best suited for anti armour ops and not req for COIN ops. as it will prove to be overkill...
