No , EUMA is must for Purchasing any sophisticated Military equipment under FMS/or Mult-vendor tender route.
Even for C17 and C130 , bcoz some of the defensive suite are under the clause.
If you dont sign it , it will be impossible to receive something like APG-80 radar from US.
See if...
They have tried to push the limits of Indian Capability, whether that has impressed IAF is a big ?
Do other aircrafts in contention will give similar capability?
Gripen does give a Lethal Punch for Bucks they are charging , but will it completely rule the sky and provide defence for Indian...
Try and read something on EUMA , its various clauses .
May be for intro this link will help-
Under pressure, India agrees to sign EUMA | India Defence Online
No they don't .
My posting is all based on little talk i do with airmen in Pune Air-force base whom I look after.
While most other part is due to Internet , when i am free in hospital and there is no patient rush I always have my Blackberry up and running.
Gambit , thnx for info...
But in case of LCA jump is substantial .
In only 650 mm you are trying to pack 1500 modules . That is huge
Just calculate the avg power rating for half beam , 750 modules multiply by 5 (since ELTA-2052 specs are not known assuming 5 RF element in each array), keeping 50% as duty cycle ...
Now the pic you are showing is F111 , it is a huge size nose .
here it is
But Size is limiting factor in case of LCA it will allow only 600-650 mm antennae.
No its not , length is not factor .
How much size you antennae is depends on height that is Circular space in case of...

I think you havent read about tejas
You say only airframe is 4.5 Gen.
1.-
Have you seen the FCS and FBW of Tejas . Its qudraplex and fully digital while Gripen has 3 digital and 1 analogue .The unstable configuration of LCA demands a highly efficient Integrated Flight Control System...
Its not about putting TR modules alone.
you need to accommodate antennae+every subsystem in that size ,
means if you are putting 1500 module on 650 mm antennae ( size of MMR) you require to put that many wave-shifters and cooling mechanism within that cranked space.
When you have RF...
1500 modules is meant for size of nose of SU30 .
LCA's nose can at max accommodate 700 modules , not more than that. That too on a 650 mm antennae (same as MMR).
I think ELTA's brochure says Modules can vary acc to size of aircraft.

Agreed , now to you -what is f15SE rcs and Shaping line for radar return.
Even bigger question what is RCS of CFT when used on f15SE which Boeing talks about so much.
Forget PAK-FA , at this stage i can show Gripen, Rafale, F18E having better rcs than F15SE
THIS will be a good discussion point F15 RCS vs PAK-FA
F15E RCS - Lets get it going ,
What is F15E RCS?????? , which are lines of shapings on F15 E airframe
Lets wait till evening , everything will be clear.
Hope for best.
LSP4 and LSP5 before year end and IOC by DECEMBER looks reality now

Yes , may be
But might be they just bypassed 2032 and decided to go along with 2052 without any hassle in future. And use that T/R JV for AEW .
Lets wait till evening Things will clear out.
Timeline for LSP-4,5 is indeed welcome thing.
