Diplomats warn of India-Pakistan nuclear exchange: WikiLeaks

You seem to be a chest thumper... good for you! As for a war between India and Pakistan; a full scale war will not be conventional, so I don't know what you are going on about. Instead of counting chickens under hypothetical scenarios, you would be well advised to pay atleast a smidgen of...

The dangers of a rising China

The rise of China appears dangerous only to those who have been enemies of China, have tried to divide its land, have stolen its wealth and played a role in carving out small city states from its mainland, have forced the Chinese people under threat of force to consume drugs/opium and have had...

Pakistan, China agree to launch new FYDP

Wow! This is huge news, and a surprise from left field. A $13.3B deal is pretty darn significant, and unless I've missed all the previous discussion, it got executed without much ado. Contrast with the $7.5B KL deal over the same period. Particularly like the fact that this effort will...

Is India the dirtiest country in the world?

Can you please provide a source link?

From WikiChina: Tom Friedman (NYT) on China's increasing power viz the US

While to some this may be humorous, to anyone who cares about America's future, it should not be. The US - in my humble opinion - is really losing the plot and pursuing policies which can only result in disaster. Others have to fight hard to get out of messes they are in. But the US had the God...

Diplomats warn of India-Pakistan nuclear exchange: WikiLeaks

That may be your opinion. But I certainly don't hear the fat lady singing yet. It's just the beginning. Whoever thinks the "game" is over and has ended in "victory" for anyone, is being naive. The game we are talking about actually has many sub plots, and Pakistan is a vital component in each of...

Diplomats warn of India-Pakistan nuclear exchange: WikiLeaks

No. We think our generals are smart enough to underline that the Indian forces are a HUGE strategic threat for us. This has allowed us to become the country that is producing nukes faster than any other country in the world (Yeah, that stat is from Wikileaks too... look for it)

Diplomats warn of India-Pakistan nuclear exchange: WikiLeaks

I am surprised you think the Indian army is so incompetent they can't even resupply when the "pakistani army" is "responsible for" none of their troubles. I doubt such a force would be in a position to do much, as per US opinion expressed here. I thought the US meant that the Indian Army...

Kayani launches reforms in Pakistan Army

Absolutely wonderful! Great job General! This will have a massive impact on so many core issues across the country. I think we should target increasing the number of Baluchis and religious minorities even further.

Power generation through coal gasification by next year: Dr. Samar

According to the Dr. Samar Mubarikmand's latest TV interview on Capital Talk, gas will start flowing from the Thar fields within the next 90 days!! This is just awesome news. I wanted to update this thread as there were a few incredulous posts above regarding how it was even possible to achieve...

Diplomats warn of India-Pakistan nuclear exchange: WikiLeaks

Au contraire, I think the cold water is being poured in the other direction. You forgot to include the next paragraph that follows your quoted text: The U.S. said in a cable that it doubted the Indian army was capable of doing so: “It is the collective judgment of the mission that India would...

From Pakistan, Diplomats Wrote About a Vexing Ally

This is exactly what I meant earlier when I said the popular press will spin these leaks to suit their own purposes; nefarious or simply conveying a spicier story. Gen. Kiyani did NOT contemplate a takeover at all, and none of the dispatches say this. He simply said e would be forced to use...

Zardari "would have no choice but to respond militarily to an Indian attack"

Frankly, Zardari doesn't come off looking bad in this either. All the things he asks for in the first memo are in Pakistan's interest.

Former Pakistani General: CIA, Mossad behind WikiLeaks Reports

The feudal class has been losing power since 1980. It is no longer the hub of power. The richest people in Pakistan are not feudals, they are businessmen from old (and new) business families. Mian Mansha is a case in point. Sir Anwer Pervez, the Jang Group, the Ali Family, the Saigols and...

Tejas successfully test fires R-73 missiles

Do you really know what you're talking about? What is the Matra 530 then? Pakistan has had radar guided missiles since the late 60s, 1970. Here is an account of our Mirages using medium range Matra 530s in the 70s: Aeronaut: Mirages at War Flt Lt Salimuddin Awan and his wingman Flt Lt...

Former Pakistani General: CIA, Mossad behind WikiLeaks Reports

What "ideas"? That the Pakistani nation is "insane"? Seriously? You want me to argue the case for why 175 million people are not insane?

Former Pakistani General: CIA, Mossad behind WikiLeaks Reports

Well come on over then. I offered you before and am offering you again. Come to Lahore. I'll be more than happy to host you. I have spent half my life in the west, the US in particular. I read all the major US newspapers and have seen more than my fair share of US focused internet forums. Let...

Former Pakistani General: CIA, Mossad behind WikiLeaks Reports

Wow! You are super defensive for someone who just called an entire nation borderline "insane". Can you smell the hypocrisy there? If you told me that you felt Imran Khan's bowling action was flawed, and I asked you how you knew this, would that be a personal attack? I presume you know more...

Former Pakistani General: CIA, Mossad behind WikiLeaks Reports

Yes, you are. And do you think that the people you interact with on a defence forum are representative of the Pakistani nation? Further, do you think that anonymous interactions on an internet forum really tell you about the character of a nation? You must have seen the CNN comments section...

Tejas successfully test fires R-73 missiles

This is great news! The Tejas seems to be performing very well. To promote local efforts, perhaps the IAF needs to rethink the timing of induction and numbers inducted. Bring it to service faster and in very large numbers. It will be extremely beneficial for the IAF.
