I agree that Military pension n Nuclear program r different things but as Pakistani Nuclear program is primarily focused on making nuclear bombs rather than for civilian use, maybe thats why he wanted to sum it up together.
Hope that clear up a bit.
INDIC wanted to know the total defence spending including military pensions n nuclear program n stuff.
I had asked a similar question a few pages back so, i answered him.
Its actually $8.40 billion i mistakenly added Employee salaries(bcoz it was highlighted) again in the total budget.
Here is the calculation :
(627+132+4+52)/97 = 8.4
It includes Defence+Pension+SUPCARO+Nuclear
@INDIC its $8.4 billion as per official figures.
Sorry my bad i think i messed some other posters reply while replying to u.
It wasn't meant for u as i had some else in mind while replying.
My Apologies :agree:
Do you know who purchases these bonds???
Its generally banks n QIBs who invest in such bonds.
N Bonds r also a form of debt only, u'll have to redeem them to n carry fixed ROI or r issued at discount to be redeemed at par.
In India generally bonds r issued by GOI for short period only...
Dear first u need to understand how to read tables.
571 is the total amount, u can't do 571+388+108+76=1142
As Its 571=388+108+76
n not the other way round.
Are u kidding urself, when the complete ban on Indian movies from 1965-2006 didn't stopped Pakistani from watching Bollywood, u believe some taxes will....
Allowing Bollywood movies was the main reason for revival of ur Cinemas.
n about vulgarity part, keep enjoying watching Punjabi...
Economic has no use for Pakistanis, its always frndz vs Enemy...
He won't understand that forces of demand n supply plays a major role in trade deficits n having an overall positive trade balance in more important rather than on one on one basis...:)
If u'll add military pensions to ur defence budget u'll see that ur already spending around 3.5% of ur gdp on defence.
Although its a good approach to check defence expenditure as % of gdp but not in case of Pakistan.
U guys r spending roughly a quarter of ur entire budget on defence plus...
India is spending $10-15 billion for 10,000 MWs n not 1000 MW at Jaitapur, Maharastra.
Even if we end up spending $20 billion at Jaitapur it would still be $2 billion per 1000 MW as against Pakistan's $9.5 MW for 1100MW....:)
If thats the cases, i hope Nawaz could come up with some better tax reforms else 5 years down the line it won't matter as whoever come to power(PTI/PPP/PLMN) but Pak's economy would be nearly bankrupt.
I mean what wonders one could expect with 10% of budget allocation for all the development...
i drew my conclusion on the basis of Table 15 of Chapter 5 about Current Expenditures, the one posted by u marking Pension payments.
N there its written that PKR 1153 billion will be allocated for Interest repayment(both foreign n domestic) n PKR 366 billion will be paid on Foreign debt...
This means that Pakistan spends roughly 20-25% of its total budget on military plus around 50% on Debt interest repayments.
Hardly anything left of the general public in the budget.
Although I think that the increase in defence budget is nominal considering rise in infliation n fall in...
What do u think is the actual defence budget of Pakistan including pensions, nuke program, etc.?
I m asking just an estimated fig or maybe % of gdp, if u can provide...:undecided:
