I guess a lot of things are hidden. Many Vietnamese sell things in the free market where government can't keep tax or keep track of, but I'm no economy expert. :undecided:
I thought the Yen losing value was actually a good thing since it allows Japan to sell their products for lower price... the high yen value has caused their products to lose sales against competitions like samsung.

As I've said, communism does have its good sides but every communist country currently are not doing so well economy wise and have low GDP per capita.

Communism does give equality... as in everyone living in equally poor condition. No country has ever achieved the good side of communism.

Chinese work longer hours than most country, have less opportunity available and on top of that, each worker has to support 2 pensioners.

Jade does have a point. Many westerns do not like buying Chinese brand names. I personally own a lenovo laptop, I wouldn't have picked it if I knew it was chinese but I was surprised that it was very well made and reliable and would definitely buy another one in the future. I like lenovo more...
I think having foreign companies in Vietnam is beneficial as of now. Sure the profits go back to the foreign countries but their business ethnics and practices is a good way to teach Vietnamese proper business skills. I see so many Vietnamese still stuck in the old, traditional business style...
