These guys need to get their act together !!
LCA radar is not a AESA !
from angle of attack
This should clear up the debate. It would seem that the first AESA for IAF will be through MMRCA afterall!
The pace of this project depends on the life left with our An-32's. This has allowed the specs to change over the years and we are now in a position to make a much better aircraft with considerable indian input. I would expect this bird to fly by 2014/16. Moreover, the testing phase should not...
The indian tanks need active protection systems. IA has already sent out RFI for its fleet of T-90's. There are plans for the Arjun as well. I personally feel israeli systems are the way to go.

If true this is very good news. I have my doubts. Moreover, given the recent RFP sent out by DRDO for T/R elements and some other systems of AESA from a foreign vendor, I am hard pressed to believe that this is indeed an "indian" AESA radar. It could in all likelihood be a foreign radar with...
Prateek,
If I were to hazard a guess, I would say that the intakes are closed (as may be the case under certain flight regimes). Check the pic below where it is coming in to land:
The picture of LCA in air (first pic) is too blurred to come up with any conclusions about the intake...
I believe there is a need to rethink the title of this thread! We are not in a race and frankly, if we really were, I would say we already lost considering the fact that the major world powers already have ICBM's deployed .
I don't see any need for land based ICBM's for India! I...

I hope IAF decides for both and not either or as stated! 120 mk2's will be a force to reckon with!
With the type of delays we are seeing, I will not be surprised if future P-28 derivatives are made entirely by the private shipyards. Though looking at the poor pace of pipavav in their current order-book, I have started to believe that there is a chronic issue of mismanagement in many Indian...
Dude who bashed Indian achievements? I have stated in the said post that I "agree" that it is a good move. In fact, I am saying every major yard on this planet does the same!!!
I am sure you know more than I do. But my statement was not in error. If you equate ToT to being home grown, I...
I do not want to degrade the work of our engineers and workers in our yards. At the same time, I am not so ignorant so as to consider these ships as home grown technologies.
You talk about P-28's. Just to give you some examples
1) Integrated ship management system: L3-mapps
and not...
"domestic"? Indian shipyards "integrate" technology. Take one look at the technologies in use in ships like the "shivaliks" or "kolkatas" and you will get a god enough idea. building the steel hull does not equate to indigenous system!
The days of making complete systems is gone...
