well we would be more than happy to have submarines better than Type 035G..... but a submarine is a strategic platform, which puts it among the items discussed on a special table named "geopolitics"..... difficult to say where our govt's stance would be tomorrow regarding subs.....

I think the capability to carry a helicopter is more than justifies deficiency in other areas.... because other areas are always modernizable.... take a look at the Castle-class OPVs....

there was a lot of talk when information was leaked that the four ships would be the Minerva-class.... we had received concerned words from our Indian friends.... so, I guess the Cassiopea-class would give them comfort....

asad bhai is not absolutely right though.... as you said, Jiangwei isn't confirmed by any official sources.... only rumours... I don't think any of the the LPCs would be completed within one year.... the deal was signed in mid 2014, so I don't think we can expect any of these within 2015...

the 30mm guns are CIWS.... and the HQ-10 (AJK-10) is a Chinese copy of RAM.... its primary purpose is to shoot down missiles.... and a bigger target....

the two ships are significantly different in design.... the F111 is so much lower overall, which should make it more stealthy..... and yes, the radars are completely different.... F111 has a different radar than the one we are using on the Durjoy-class.....
