I think your economic analysis is fairly limited. BD’s businesses are better off targeting the consumer and business sectors of Pakistan which has a huge middle class with its goods and services. They will need to compete with other companies that already sell in the huge Pakistani market.
This is very bizzare indeed. What is wrong with them? You have to protect the institution of the military not shamelessly parade its extrajudicial interference in state matters.
I think the work the Pakistani Army Engineers are doing is genuinely life saving and showcases the skill of the engineers. It’s quite impressive. Should help to attract bright engineering minds as well. Makes me proud to see.

It might be a generational issue and I would imagine is more prevalent in the public sector? It’s sort of similar here in Canadian government as well, very hierarchical work environments with no room for innovation and creativity.
