Hi,
LNG is priced as a percentage of crude oil in most of the world markets. Typical pricing formula is:
P = A * B + C
where,
P = Price of LNG in USD/mmbtu
A = Slope or Percentage (Negotiated by Seller & Buyer)
B = Benchmark (It can be Crude Oil, Brent Oil or JCC or it can be other benchmarks...

Hi,
It was not. The contract price (13.37%) was well above average price for the contract year (2016) and the contract month (Feb, 2016).

Hi,
Thanks for the tag and the thread.
Both these guys have done a great job, more power to both of them. It is heartening to see young people standing up-to rent-a-journos and media moguls, and taking them to task.

Hi,
The link shared in above tweet answers your earlier question about winter cargoes. There is indeed a clause in contract suggesting additional cargoes, on top of a calendar year volumes (24, 36 & 48 for 2022, 2023, & 2024 onward), can be imported by Pakistan at 10.2%. Which...
Hi,
The trend for the prices is to go down with longer term period, but it does not mean, we would have got a 9.5% price for a 15 yr contract today, we may have got a 10.1%. All term deals 10, 15 or 25 yr, will have a defined period for price renegotiation agreed upon by parties at the time of...
Hi,
That tweet part regarding port charges was massively confusing, atleast to me. It was giving impression that the new contract is FOB based, which indeed would have been an anti climax but like our older contracts this contract too is DES based.
Qatar has been quite generous to sweeten the...
Dear Niaz Sb,
The price for PMLN signed contract was 13.37% of Brent. The price for PTI signed contract is 23.7% cheaper compared to PMLN's. The price can also be renegotiated after 4 years of supply that is in 2026, as opposed to 10 years in PMLN contract. I have shared Nadeem Babar's...
Hi,
Any further info on whose port charges are these at, Qatar or Pakistan? I am guessing he's referring to Port charges in Pakistan, Qatar sharing a portion of that seems too good to be true. Anyway, the deal is excellent for Pakistan.

Hi,
There's an opportunity of a term deal for atleast 1cargo/ month (PSO) but I have heard of some talks are going on for 2 cargoes/month too (a 5 year contract). Qatar is trying hard to get that, it is evident from their recent interest in our spot purchases. Usually Qatar is not too keen on...
