Government could strip citizenship from Americans under Enemy Expatriation

Not really... We already have people who celebrate and party over deaths of U.S. servicemen. They show up at funerals, picket and say disgusting things. Everyone hates them, but their speech is protected. I can picket and say "The U.S. should be nuked because I hate this country" and it too...

Government could strip citizenship from Americans under Enemy Expatriation

Aryan_B - thanks. I'd click the "thanks" link, but it's missing from your post #17. I think you're being hyperbolic here, a bit over the top. But I don't disagree with the root of your post. Individual liberties are precious. I am Libertarian in that regard. But the notion of stripping...

Government could strip citizenship from Americans under Enemy Expatriation

OK, accidents happen. I thought I was being censored. The definition of treason is in the books. It's been around since the USA was founded. I don't know specifics off the top of my head, but it's little different from most other countries. Lindh was a traitor. McVeigh - borderline...

Who Was The Best Fighter Pilot Ever ?

Col. Robin Olds was fairly worshipped by his men. He was a rare individual that combined superb airmanship with outstanding leadership. His men would have flown through hell with him. RIP sir. To answer the question, the World's Greatest Fighter Pilot was..... Me. :woot: Every...

Government could strip citizenship from Americans under Enemy Expatriation

Already answered. Criminals that are convicted lose rights, but retain basic citizenship. This isn't that tough. The bill is directed at traitors. Societies generally really hate traitors. Nothing new here. All I want to see is due process and oversight so there are no abuses.

Government could strip citizenship from Americans under Enemy Expatriation

Like any correct law that sanctions a citizen, the due process portion would analyze and perhaps try, in open court, the offenses. Further, I'd expect a no B.S. list of crimes that might result in such a revocation. When you say "framed", I'd hope the system would recognize and correct for...

Government could strip citizenship from Americans under Enemy Expatriation

I have no trouble stripping citizenship from a person who becomes a combatant, but there should be due process first.

    The Food vs. Fuel

How did it become the world's corn supply? It's OUR corn. You'd think anything that would reduce oil imports would be praiseworthy. I guess not. It's U.S. corn... we can turn it into fuel if we want to.

Chinese version of Predator and copy of AC130 gunship

The Chinese don't hold a candle to the SOviets when it comes to copying. After WW2, a U.S. B-29 made a forced landing in the USSR. In 1945, the B-29 was the B-2 of its day. It was pressurized, had remote-controlled gun turrets, and could fly higher and faster than many fighter planes. Stalin...

    Australian airlines reject ‘fat tax’

True, but I've had people claim otherwise on forums. People "pose" all the time as Special forces, SEALs, snipers, fighter pilots, etc. I could be hoodwinking everybody. While I treasure my military days, the commercial airline world is a nasty and unpleasant business that is spiraling...

    Australian airlines reject ‘fat tax’

Maybe not... ;) Such information is easily available with a bit of snooping. Fuel burn of the 737-800, seating, the price of fuel, etc.

were the tuskegee airmen the most skilled pilots in the war?

No. They were normal pilots, not better, not worse. The U.S. public is still flooded with guilt over the whole race issue, so pioneers like the Tuskeegee airmen are lauded well beyond their real capabilities. And the "Never lost a bomber" thing, not true. It's an urban legend. It's been...

    Australian airlines reject ‘fat tax’

On a 3 hour flight in a 737 with 120 people, the average share of fuel per person - 20,000 lb burned / 120 people = 166 pounds per person. @ 6 pounds per gallon, that's 27 gallons of jet fuel for each passenger. Jet fuel sells for about $3.50 per gallon, so fuel costs per person = $96. A...

@ PacificBeach - THANK you! It's good to find someone else who enjoys this sort of thing. I am purely a novice... I had some introductory courses but pursued chemistry rather than physics. It makes sense that the "increased" mass component in velocity/energy is a simplified way to look at it...

US condemns bomb attack on Iran nuclear scientist

Over the top jingoism adds little. Saying the Mossad and the CIA are the same thing is pretty much ignoring a long history of conflict, disagreement, and at the core, policy differences between them. They neither work together, nor share information.

German WW2 and pre-WW2 March Songs

By the fall of 1939, Germany was prosperous, growing economically, poised for an era of great advancement. Somehow, they managed to shrug off those "unfair" dicta from the Versailles Treaty. Yet they decided to annex the Sudetenland, Austria, Czechoslovakia, then launch a blitz on Poland and...
