China Human Rights: Hear how Mr. Kishore Mahbubani respond!?!?!?

I applaud to Kishore Mahbubani that he articulated the response so well. His knowledge of history and politics is highly admirable. What some Europeans countries have done over the last 500 years in colonialism and slave trade was very wrong. They should feel shamed and try to undo evil deed...

Why China, with same size of power grid, won’t suffer outage like in the US

The dire situation in Texas power grid is driven by a perfect storm of record demand and generation failure. The later appears to be a more severe driver. One the demand side, I haven’t seen the exact data but the peak demand over this week has been much higher than operator’s highest estimate...

China’s Economy Overtaking the U.S. Will Be Harder Than It Looks

I think many intellectuals in China has expressed their view of future world being a multipolar world with China being one of the polar. A key pillar of the world order is still globalization. Globalization has always been China’s long term favor, right from beginning of this civilization state...

    humane capitalism : an introduction

I like your analysis around the asymmetrical wealth growth in the western countries, which underpins many issues in these developed economies, be it social, economical and political. Japan in my mind is an unique being in the sense that it is but is not exactly part of the “western” world. Its...

    humane capitalism : an introduction

Being humane doesn’t solve any economical issues that are happening in the western countries and the world in general. The fundamental issue in the western countries is nothing but lack of economic growth. Lack of growth causes income inequality and decline in living standard, social tension was...

Lone wolf: The West should bide its time, friendless China is in trouble

A very very comprehensive write up and made a lot of very valid points. Well done. A lot of the argument from OP are totally expected from someone with a superficial understanding of political economy. I largely agree with your prediction but I am less optimistic about timeline that rich...

UNSC permanent membership should be disbanded

The admission criteria for UNSC P5 is simple- defeating any existing members in an all out war. A country will receive “invitation” once this feat is accomplished.

Chinese threatens India to Send Troops in Occupied Kashmir

Chinese pattern of strategic thinking does not work like a game of chess but like a game of go. The subtle difference between these two games is that Go is a game of patience. there’s no clear direction of the competition. There’s no clear definition of roles. You are so closely engaged with...

10 captives, Over 20 soldiers, including Commanding Officer killed at Galwan border clash with China

These were in PLA custody should consider themselves lucky. They would have died in harsh sub zero condition.

10 captives, Over 20 soldiers, including Commanding Officer killed at Galwan border clash with China

I am seriously worried that in couple days time, the melee weapon that PLA soldiers used in that night would be this saw head baseball bat and the legendary general cao’s sword of revenge.

10 captives, Over 20 soldiers, including Commanding Officer killed at Galwan border clash with China

I think the faith they have was not from the primitive weapon they were using ie metal bar etc. instead the confidence came from the fact that there’s a much bigger army in the back with modern weapons backing them up.

Analysis on the impact of China-India debacle

I think India does have a plan called The International North-South Transport Corridor, which goes from Iran via Central Asia to Russia. To me, the name with a transport Corridor reveals that India has positioned it as a transport routine as opposed to a comprehensive infrastructure and...

Analysis on the impact of China-India debacle

I strongly suggest you have another good look at BRI, which may change your mind. BRI is the most ambitious infrastructure plan that humanity will see. Since the dawn of civilization, human has been dreaming of traveling freely on the Eurasia - a road between Rome and China on which Plato and...

Analysis on the impact of China-India debacle

As you rightly pointed out, BRI is China’s strategic game plan in the next 100 years, of which CPEC is the flagship project. China has committed large amount of resource in capital, human and technology into the project to enable the process. What has happened along LAC will has shown the...

Analysis on the impact of China-India debacle

Thanks for the thoughtful post and you have made some very interesting points. On a couple of things I like to add some thoughts to supplement your discussion. I don't know China made it a policy of not going to war. We have not seen China go to war many times in the past as it considered war...

China releases report/videos of 'several thousand' paratroopers moving to Tibet.

My friend, you made really valid point about real combat experience, which is super critical to any army in terms of combat capability. Nevertheless it is difficult to gain real experience in peace time and every military has the same issue. They try to compensate this by playing war games. PLA...

Turkish Armed Forces has been ranked the 6th strongest in the world!

The key combatants in WWII meaning P5+ Germany and Japan should be always on the top of the list. Don’t be fooled by pacifist look of German (beer and BMWs) and Japanese (cartoons and rest of the things) that they are having at the moment. They have the industrial capability, organization...

    China-India Standoff 2020 - Outcome

The current standoff was triggered by India’s construction of roads and air strips along LAC, which China regards as a threat to its position and an act to change status que. In a way, it is the continuation of the “Forward Policy” that Nehru has championed in the 60’s, which lead to the 1962...
