A strong army is only as good as its leadership. At this point, its clear where their loyalty lies.
Hence, Pakistan has a dump economy and an army leadership whose loyalty is severely compromised.
Best one could hope for is the 2nd tier leadership bides their time and course corrects when they...
Being a devil’s advocate here, the establishment feared that the rallies would have turned into a pro PTI protest.
But I am surprised as to why Establishment’s B team aka TLP or JUI are not holding protests.
That’s the crux.
I believe despite all the potential blowbacks, Pakistan could have treaded these stormy waters.
Let’s just transpose to a parallel universe. Post Russian visit, the cipher pressure could have been withstood.
Pakistan starts getting crude at 30% discount. The COAS staying...
You make some fair points.
The Russian visit was a sane one, I think. All these years Pakistan never made overtures to Russia, that in itself is a cardinal sin. And plus in the midst of a commodity super cycle, a chance for a 30% discount on crude.
The timing was unfortunately off. Nobody...
IK’s foreign policy could have been better, I agree. He had a good relation with Trump after the US visit but should have consolidated this relationship.
Secondly, IK did not visit UK. He could have used his relationship to leverage better ties with UK.
With the Middle East, again he could...
Bro,
There is a management path for medical doctors (on the civilian side) and that is why there are alot of medical doctors with management expertise sitting on private hospital board and doing a great job.
They have better exposure than their military counterparts.
How are you so sure about this and why would you think that most civilian doctors with management experience cannot?
There are many all-civilian management hospitals that are doing an exemplary job in Pakistan.
You’re saying a career medical doctor whose gone through learning medicine, then decades of practice, promoted to a management position, overlooking operations, has exposure working with civilians; his/her experience is eclipsed by a medical corp officer?
Let’s just agree to disagree.
Fair point.
But why not let civilian health officials run the institution whose exposure and job experience will be more relevant.
I would think in this situation, a sensible thing to do would be to call out the gradual army control of all institutions which is not their job description.
With these kind of kangaroo institutions, the enemies of Pakistan will be laughing their asses off.
And I don’t have to remind anyone what Allah (SWT) says about nations that have dual justice and thieves at the helm.
The establishment fanboys will justify this that war commanding skills is a critical skill in managing a health institution and performing surgery.
So great job boys.
Good one by Wajahat.
Gave some eye opening accounts of how international establishment works in cohort with Pakistan’s establishment.
Wajahat was one of the few journalists who saw establishment’s real face before Imran Khan’s ouster.
Yes, who knows.
Pakistan might be the fore front rentier state and the CSF would start flowing in ushering in a new era of bombing Muslim brothers for $$$.
We’ve been there in the past, haven’t we.
South Africa made this game close.
Good bowling from Pakistan. Seems they’re coming in form. Too late though.
Pakistan batting, mindless. Batters giving away wicket after getting set. Could have played 50 overs and added 20 runs.
being humble is not one of your strong points. Enjoy your short...
